The product if fiberboard with a thin piece of cardboard for the back.
Supposedly it weighs 70 lbs. I don't think it weighs that much. My
friend helped me put it together and we are both female. It was not that heavy when we stood it up.

Yes but when you open the doors, you need additional space to allow for the doors to swing open and the handles are there also. In other words, if you only had a space 21.31" wide you would not be able to fully open the doors. My estimate is you need about a 24" space.

The middle and bottom fixed shelves hold a max of 50 lbs -- the 2 adjustable shelves have a weight limit of 35 lbs. The top says 0 lbs, but you could probably put some lightweight decorative item like an artificial plant or something on top without any problem.

It is very sturdy so I would say you are safe with storing the paperwork you describe inside. The back is only made of a flimsy cardboard, though, so you would have to be careful that you don't push against it too hard or it may buckle out.

question on measurements

The measurements state "Mainstays Storage Cabinet dimensions: 21.31"L x 15.44"W x 59.88"H" - I am assuming that the 21.31"L is really the width and that the 15.44"W is the depth - this is all based on the picture.
Looks like a great product and the reviews support that.

Question

will this cabinet hold a microwave

asked 1 year ago
By
ruby
on Mainstays Storage Cabinet, Multiple Finishes
11 answers
Answers
answer 1
It depends on the size of your microwave ... the interior fixed shelf in the middle is 20"W by 15" D. The weight load for that shelf is 50#, so a small one would probably fit. You'd just need to make sure it's a size that you'd have enough space around it to have air circulation, otherwise the heat that's generated will damage the microwave. Another thought to consider .... having it inside the cabinet might eventually cause the wood to warp or the interior finish to peal too because of the moisture that's created when you cook.... I don't KNOW that, but it seems reasonable that that might happen.
