What is this product made from and how much does it weigh?

it's made of pressed particle board and while it's not real wood, it's still heavy although I can move it around. It isn't sturdy unless you purchase L-shaped brackets to keep it from swaying to the side as it's narrow and top heavy.

Supposedly it weighs 70 lbs. I don't think it weighs that much. My

Yes. The box it comes in is 34.5" L X 16.75" W X 7.5" D. The unit comes in 2 parts that you assemble and then attach together so unless you're in a 'Smart' Car it should fit (& even then it might).

answer 11
I think the bracket is designed just to stabilize the cabinet against the wall so it can't tip over when you pull the doors open. The cabinet is pretty heavy .. not sure I would trust hanging it up on the wall. I suppose you could attach a couple of L brackets on the bottom & attach those to the wall for additional support if you really wanted up off the floor, but the mounting piece by itself would probably not be good enough by itself.

Yes but when you open the doors, you need additional space to allow for the doors to swing open and the handles are there also. In other words, if you only had a space 21.31" wide you would not be able to fully open the doors. My estimate is you need about a 24" space.

question on measurements

The measurements state "Mainstays Storage Cabinet dimensions: 21.31"L x 15.44"W x 59.88"H" - I am assuming that the 21.31"L is really the width and that the 15.44"W is the depth - this is all based on the picture.

It is too heavy to mount to wall. Only 1 small bracket that mounts to wall thru the back piece near the top of the unit. NO way that could hold this up.

If you put 'L' brackets on the top & bottom of the cabinet and attach those to the wall (like into a stud), it probably could be mounted up off the floor. The bracket that comes with it is only for stabilizing (so that it can't tip over then you pull open the doors) and that would not be sufficient alone for mounting it up on a wall.
