I bought 5 50ct boxes about 8/15/13 They have an expiration date of Feb 2015. Assuming they were brand new the shelf life would be at least 18 months.

Use these Prime test strips with a Prime meter for best results in my experience.

answer 2
I would not do that to your freestyle simply because of the contact points on the strips. The ReliOn Prime contact bars are larger and could short your freestyle.

answer 3
Most likely not. Each meter takes a different amount of blood and not all strips are the same size. I recommend Googling "Freestyle meter compatible strips" and see what information is out there. Also, call your local diabetes educator (or ask at your local hospital to talk to one) and get their advice. If you go to Freestyle's website, of course they're going to tell you to purchase their brand (which are very expensive).

If the cost of the Freestyle strips are keeping you from checking your blood sugar like you should, I would encourage you to do some research and purchase a meter that has strips with a pricetag you can afford. You really don't want to mess around with your diabetes and get inaccurate results just because you want a cheaper strip without purchasing the correct glucometer. Your life and health are too important for that. Good Luck!

they probably didn't change. There just are quite a few test strips and they only work in the meter they are made for.

Reli-On has more than 1 meter and if you bought the wrong strip they are not interchangeable. From when I first bought the Prime the strip design has changed but the new strips still work. Just going cheaper is my guess.

COULD BE YOUR INSTRUMENT - IS THE BATTERY DEAD? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PUSH THE STRIP INTO THE SLOT - DOES THE DISPLAY WORK - IF NOT, BATTERY IS PERHAPS DEAD. THE PAPER YOU GOT WITH THE INSTRUMENT TELLS YOU HOW TO REPLACE THE BATTERY, BUT FOR THE LOW COST OF THE INSTRUMENT PROBABLY WOULD BE BETTER IDEA TO JUST BUY NEW ANALYZER - IF IT DOES NOT WORK WALMART WILL GIVE YOU A REFUND OR REPLACEMENET - I HAVE TWO OF THEIR METERS AND BOTH HAVE WORKED GREAT AND HAVE NEVER HAD A STRIP FAIL EXCEPT WHEN I PUSH THE STRIP IN INCORRECTLY.

Return them and do not order them again. If you call the company and the problem is with the product, most on line companies will send you a free postage paid return label or labels.

You can clear the memory by removing the battery and not replacing if for at least 30 sec. p15 of the User Manual. This is like a hard boot on computer. You can keep results out of your averages by pressing < or >keys after you see the result p55 Marking Other Results ( I do this if I get a High reading and I forgot to rinse my hands before taking blood.)
