Question

How do you get the blood to absorb int the test strip

answer 1
Squeeze the drop so it's on your finger, then bring the test strip to it. Just touch it to the blood, and it will suck it in. Don't try to scrape it in, just touch the drop, and you'll see it suck in. (Be sure the test strip is already in the meter, before touching the blood to it.)

answer 2
touch the end of the strip into the blood and let it wick up into the strip. Do not put blood on top of the strip or take too much time with it, or you'll probably get an error.

answer 3
The secret is to apply the drop of blood to the very end tip of the strip not on top. It will pull into the proper testing area automatically

answer 4
Suzi, have you ever used a test strip before? You just put your blood on the end of a test strip and then the strip absorbs it and the meter gives the reading. It's simple and this meter doesn't need much blood as other types.

Question

how do you place the strip in the meter?

There's a little slot at the end of the meter closest to the power button. That's where you insert the strip. One side of the strip is blank white (bottom), the other side has markings on it (top). One end of the strip has a square hole in it ... that end goes into the slot, with the top of the strip facing up (display side of meter). If the strip is properly inserted, the meter will turn itself on, and display a blinking image of a test strip, with a little droplet at one end. That means the meter/strip is ready for your blood sample, which you then touch to the other end of the strip.

I found a wide range of discrepancies using other meters including Contour, Liberty and Tru2Go meters. Only the Freestyle has been largely reliable.

Mine are fine. Check your test strips with the meter solution. That should tell you whether or not it's a true reading.
answered 10 months ago
By
Kharadite
answer 3
Because there is lack of quality control with ReliOn meters and strips. I didn't even have accurate readings when I used the Bayer Contour a couple of years ago. There seems to be no true glucose reading other than when done at the lab.

I disagree with you. Been using mine for 10 months now with no problems at all. Maybe an occasional test strip that codes Error.

Normal variance when testing on all meter is 30 points. This would be considered acceptable (iup to a 60 point spread is possible).

Call Relion and order a test solution that they provide at no cost to insure that your meter is working correctly. I did mine and it was fine. You should also test your other meter. I never heard of it!
