I get that sometimes, it means that the data (blood) cannot be read in the machine. It's an error code that could mean 1) not enough blood sample to read 2) the input of blood was before the sensor was ready (you should see an image on the screen with a drop going onto the strip, indicating that the sample is ready to be input and read). Just throw away the strip and then re-test. Hope this helps.

answer 3
If it doesn't pick up the blood correctly you'll get an error. Touch the end of the strip to the top of the blood drop and let it draw in. I'm not sure what kind of strips you have but the ones I have are a bit more sensitive than the old (expensive) ones I used to use.

answer 4
There isn't enough blood.

If you've been using other brands, they may require significantly less blood than these do.

I lost 13 out of the first 50 for this reason. Have finally gotten used to how much more blood is needed by these.

Does this meter give blood sugar averages like the ReliOn Ultima meter?

The ReliOn ultima meter provides blood sugar averages for a 7-day, 14-day, & 30-day time period. I would like to know if the ReliOn Prime does something similar.

Question

Does Relion meter need calibration?

I am getting very high readings with Relion meter and strips compared to another meter I have and with actual laboratory results, all from the same sample. Relion read 170 while the other meter read 128 and lab result was 133. If calibration is needed, how can I get it done?

Your results are within the USA FDA requirements of +/- 20% for blood glucose test devices.

You have to go to Relion's website to get the testing solution, that will tell you if it's accurate, or not. I don't know how to calibrate the meter, but at least you'll know if it's accurate, or not, once you get the testing solution.

It is free, but they do require you to give them all your contact info, including phone and email. Bad form on their part, but they don't carry it in Walmart stores, or online. You HAVE to go through the Relion Website to get it.

Mine didn't need calibration. I ordered the calibration fluid for free of the Relion website (I don't have the link, found it in another answer here) and it was reliable. I'd call Relion and they will send it to you. Sounds like your machine is off since it is so different from the lab results.
