Can you tell me the differences between the various ReliON brand meters / strips?
I can't afford to use the testing meter I currently use so I thought I'd try one of the WalMart products. However, I'd like to know the differences including lancing devices, test strip costs, accuracy claims etc. Thanks so much.

on ReliOn Prime Blood Glucose Monitoring System, Blue
I'd just try it. I don't agree with the reviewer who said "the more you spend, the more accuracy you get." ALL meter/strip systems of this class are pretty much the same in terms of accuracy ... plus/minus 20 points or so from your "lab accurate" blood glucose rate. The Relion meters/strips, on the other hand, cost DRAMATICALLY less to use, mainly because the strips cost so much less than, e.g., OneTouch Ultra. About .18 retail per strip, compared with about $1.00 retail per strip for OneTouch and all the others. So far, I've noticed no difference in accuracy between Relion and OneTouch.
The difference is going to be in how high the meter can register blood glucose readings. The higher the price of the device, the higher it can measure.
