E-Z Gate by Mighty Mule E-Z Gate Wireless Driveway Alarm by Mighty Mule

The E-Z Gate Wireless Driveway Alarm by Mighty Mule alerts you when anyone enters your driveway, so you will never be surprised by visitors in vehicles. The handy alarm uses reliable vehicle detection to sense when a car or truck passes and does not alert you when an animal or human passes. The sensor features in-ground electromagnetic sensors that will activate an indoor chime when a vehicle enters. The E-Z Alarm features a sensitivity adjustment that will allow you to choose how sensitive you want the electromagnetic sensor to be in detecting movement. Designed to detect mass metal moving within a 3' to 12' radius of the wand, the driveway sensor alarms can transmit to an internal base station up to 400' away, allowing you to use it on lengthy driveways. Yes. I have one receiver in the front and one in the back of my house because they are not very loud. Just make sure the code switches are set to the same code.

Thank you for your question. The E-Z Gate Wireless Driveway Alarm is a stand-alone item. It is not designed to be used with a gate, an automatic gate opener, or any gate opener accessory. It simply detects a vehicle entering your driveway and alerts you with an indoor chime. The only accessory available for the Wireless Driveway Alarm is the Additional Indoor Base Station (DA1001). You can add up to 3 base stations for your Wireless Driveway Alarm. The base stations are ideal for your kitchen, living room, master bedroom, garage, workshop, etc. The exit wand uses similar vehicle detection technology (electromagnetic) but is an automatic gate opener accessory designed to open the gate when a vehicle is exiting your property.

Thank you for your question. The E-Z Gate Wireless Driveway Alarm by Mighty Mule is designed to simply alert you when a vehicle enters your driveway. The transmitter sends the signal to the indoor base station which makes the alarm sound (different than a standard doorbell chime.) The sensor is buried parallel to your driveway within 400 feet of your indoor alarm, and is tethered to a transmitter that can be moved around and hidden in a bush, plant, etc.

does the cable have to be buried or is it above ground?

Thank you very much for your question. The E-Z Gate Wireless Driveway Alarm sensor should be buried parallel to the driveway 1 ft. below ground. Once the placement of the of the transmitter is found, you would dig a narrow trench or "slit" for the wire, at least 6 in. deep, from the sensor to the transmitter using a small spade or trowel. This will help prevent damage to wire.
