It starts when pin is entered and a $ 35.00 credit is placed in your account for future use, once the 1 st month is used . This was offered online only and was recently changed. I liked the service and think its a great idea for ocassional users. I lost my device ,called and suspended the service and lost a months service because I did not purchase another device right away. But I still have the second month, once I purchase a new device.

Yes, the Mobile Hotspot device must be purchased from Walmart for the Refill Card to be good for 60 days. I ordered a device from T-Mobile's website and purchased a $35 Refill Card from Walmart and it was for good for only 30 days.

Question

Does it work?

I've read many accounts on the web where the buyer wasn't able to get the 60 days honored by T-mobile.

Has anyone been able to get their Walmart purchased hotspot to be activated with 60 days?

I got it working with the Walmart device for 60 days. The T-mobile technical support told me it should work on devices such as iPad, but not on phones. When I moved the SIM to my 4G unlocked phone or iPad, those devices recognized that it was a T-mobile SIM, I couldn't get any data.

I did. I bought the device at WM and the card at walmart.com but it appears that the cards are only sold 'in-store' now.

The hotspot will give you WiFi. You should be able to connect any Wifi-capable device regardless of where you bought it. So, any tablet or laptop, etc should be fine.

Question

Does this work if i bought my laptop stick at T-mobile.com?

When I originally looked it said that it works on any T-mobile device. So I bought it on t-mobile site as was on sale. Then after I bought it and couldn't return it I saw a note saying it only worked if you bought the device at walmart. I am confused cause it says it works on any t-mobile device. I shop at walmart alot and just need internet with the device. I think it should be better clarified.

You must buy the device from Walmart. Even after the purchase there could be problems with getting the 60 days. You must also make sure that the T-Mobile agent is given the device IME number otherwise you're likely to only receive 30 days of service. Make sure after the service is activated that you setup an account on the T-Mobile website and check the days of service.

If the T-Mobile device that you are using was not purchased at Walmart, all you will get is $35 of funds added to your account. But if your device was purchased from Walmart and if you want the Walmart-exclusive data-only plan, make sure to call T-Mobile's 1-800 number (1-800-866-2453) and specify to a representative that you want the $35, 60-day, 3.5GB data-only plan and that your device was purchased from Walmart. Also make sure to grab a pamphlet that mentions the plan so that if they need a copy of it for proof, you have proof to give.
