You have to buy the straight talk airtime card to use this or you can buy the airtime with a credit/debit online when you activate the phone. For this phone its required that you buy the $45.00 unlimited plan. Which is the best deal for a smartphone plan in my area.

I think they are one and the same. If you do not have an airtime card of $30 or $45 the phone can not be activated unless you have auto refill on your present phone.

answer 5
No. The Activation card is what comes in the box with the new phone.. The Card has the serial number of the phone on it with instructions.. It has to be scanned first, of course, at the register when you buy it. You just install the battery, snap on the back cover..start charging your phone then call Straight Talk to activate. You will still need to purchase a Straight Talk Card before calling to activate.

No it is not a airtime card. An activation card gives you the phones serial number that allows you to get the phone activated for the first time without having to find it on the phone or in the phone.

When changing phones or phone companys I just call my new phone company and ask them to transfer my phone number to the new phone. If I am changing companys my old phone must still be active or the new company can not transfer the phone number. As soon as the phone number is transfered to the new phone the old phone goes dead. The same goes if you are changing phones to a newer phone in your present company. Just transfer the phone number to the new phone and the old one goes dead. I have done business with 3 companys and it was the same with all three companys, to transfer my old phone number to the new phone. Also make sure you cancel your service with the old company even if your told you don't have to & write down the date and time or chance paying a full month of service on your old company. Hope this helps you.

Just b sure to print out, copy or download any contracts you have...I just transferred the SD micro chip!!! When you 1st call to set up your Straight Talk on your new phone..the prompts will ask if you want to transfer your number.

No. Do not cancel your old service. Go to www.straighttalk.com and you can transfer your number there. This website completely takes care of everything you need it to do. They end your current service and move your number to the new phone. When you get to the st website click on Activate/Reactivate and it will give you 3 options. The 1 you'll want is Activate my Straight Talk phone with a number transferred from another company.

As long as your current phone number is active, your the primary account holder, you know the account number, and the account password. Be warned though, prepaid to prepaid number ports can be complicated. In fact any number port can be complicated. Straight Talk customer service handles all of this for you. You will need to call on another phone to activate your straight talk phone.

I bought my phone at 80303 (Boulder, CO). Bought it mainly because it is on Verizon. Took it to remote rural NE Iowa, zip code 50641. On a farm, real boonies, and with 3g was able to surf the web, get e-mail, dowload files and apps, take pix and send direct to Facebook...so, I've read that claim elsewhere and it's simply not true. This is a great advancement for pre-paid Android. Also, got lost looking for another farm 2 hours south of Des Moines. GPS worked flawless while car was moving, as did 3g, so was lost no more!

Someone above said that the Precedent is TMobile--actually the Precedent is Sprint. The Proclaim is Verizon. And yes, you CAN port a Landline (someone above said you usually can't)--I ported my Landline to Straight Talk in 2 days (good time for a Landline, they take longer. But worth the wait for the number iIve had for 34 years!)

Sometimes, an old cell number can be transferred, but usually not a land-line.

Verizon towers seems to be the usual, but I assume any tower may be used, when roaming, regarding ST agreements.

It works great; don't hesitate; you won't regret it. I've had Blackberry, etc., and this is the best.

When you activate it, provide them with the zip code to your Home Town and they will assign a related number. The Proclaim runs on Verizon Towers with the similar Precedent running on T-Mobile.
