I am having problems with the keyboard. When rotating from vertical to horizontal to text, the keyboard displays letter couplets, not single letters.
This only recently started and I cannot find a way to fix it. The display also looks different in the vertical position. The letters look larger and have changed to a white backdround.

When the keyboard pops up click on the wrench icon. Then select "Languages and settings" Then click selected language (which is most likely English). Select keyboard input and make sure that keyboard is the only one checked off of all the selections. Reduced keyboard is what displays the letter couplets

In the area where it says "Type to compose" press and hold down until the screen pops up that says "Edit text" and "Input method". Select "Input Method", then select Android keyboard". That will switch it back to the keyboard you're use too.
As far as when the phone rotates... changing the keyboard should fix that issue as well, but if you find that you like the "white background" with the XT9 Text Input selected, all you have to do is change the keyboard setting. Below where you compose the message there will either be ">>" or two other icons plus "<<". Select the one that looks like a keyboard with a line diagonally through it. That will change it back & forth between a regular keyboard & the grouped letters keyboard.
