Yes, the vapor stream is cool.
This is a tiny soft ball sized unit designed for personal use. Not intended to humidify a whole room.
Should be used bedside, chairside or at a PC.
Must be manually turned off after about 4 hours when cold water reservoir is empty.

The humidifier comes with a filter and a 2 pack of filters. Before placing the filter in the unit, it must be soaked in a glass of water for several minutes.
The vapor is produced for about 4 hours and must be manually turned off when the water reservoir is empty.
The filter is to be changed when it becomes discolored.
Filters must be purchased from the manufacturer. WalMart does not carry or order them.

this humidifier uses a wick. it comes with 3 wicks, one for the unit initially and two extra. I believe additional wicks can be purchased from Homemedics

Not really. It has a wick, which probably acts as a filter as well, but I wouldn't put in water that needs filtering....

Yep it comes with 3 filters. Just bought this today for my kids, 2 of them. Cool because you can plug them into their computers..so when they are sitting there the mist can be blowing at their faces!! then just pick it up and move it to the bedside to plug in to the outlet next to the bed.

No, it has no auto turn off.
It lasts about 4 hours per fill-up and you must manually turn it off by pressing the blue light button on top of unit.

It does not. the instructions say you should turn it off and unplug it when out of water; hence, you cannot go to sleep with it on.

Yes very tiny filters sold only by the manufacturer Homedic. Around $4 for a 2 pack. WalMart does not carry the filters and cannot order them.
