This "Shark Rotator" glides very smoothly across the floor and carpet, I too have had "self propelled" in the past because of my back and I believe this is just as good as the self propelled. I see no difference between this one and my self propelled.

The shark lift away navigator is so lightweight, that you don't need a self-propelled unit. I am 75 with arthritis, and my husband is 80, with 8 joint replacements, and we can both run this vacuum just fine.
None of the Shark Vacuums are self-propelled.

Not at this time, Dumpling. The Shark machines require user guidance and propulsion.

The one on the website, the one that lifts away, is not the same model Walmart carries. That one is like the Navigator PRO. If that is the functions you are looking for, i recommend you buy the one a scale down from the Rotator. It is an awesome vacuum cleaner, with many bells and whistles that this one does not have.
I am wondering if those numbers are not for the different variances of this vacuum? If you go to their website you can see what I am talking of. The one Walmart carries is not a Rotator, but a Navigator model, and it is white. Otherwise, I think it is pretty much the same as the one you see on tv?

there is better, but if you want to shell out hundreds and hundreds for it.
If you have money to burn than buy the best, but for my money and the
same actions, Shark is the brand for me., many years of use after using
Oreck, professional cleaner, I owned a maid service and janitorial service in the Austin area. The best money could buy, than I came across this little jewel.

Yes, they have a feature which turns off the rotating brush. We use it on our laminate floors and it works well.

I don't know the exact length, but it is about as long as the one on my canister vac and ti stretches out quite a bit. When attaching the extra hose length and tool on the end of that, you'll find it quite adequate.

The photo in ad shows woman using it on a vaulted ceiling. Maybe it will extend that far but new out of the box the hose is compressed and a bit stiff. It is carried on the machine in its minimum length on convenient leading clips and guides. To extend it you have to gently pull it out from those clips and start to stretch it (it will re-compress and hold shorter length by running your hand along hose in reverse direction when finished & to mount it again on the machine.) I only stretched mine out to about 5 1/2 feet to use with attachments to clean pet hair off the sofas. It would extend farther but that's as far as I took it.

long enough to do the job and short enough to keep out of your way., it is a steal for the money. Takes the back seat to no one. There is no pro
duct out there that can match this lightweight and keeps on working., quiet and keeps the dust in the cup. I have problems with alergies, but this one keeps the dust in the cup. period...

thanks walmart, monte

Question

Tools for NV400 vs. NV500-what is the REAL difference?

I'm looking at the NV400 (costs less) - On the Shark site where you compare: the 400 has the 24" flexible crevice tool, the 16' extended hose reach, lifetime belts/filters- the 500 says 8.2' reach and 12" crevice tool. Both have pet hair power brush. Both 1200 watts. So, for the extra $, what is the REAL difference? Just the 3 in 1??
