Question

can you tell me how much a day it will cost to run this heater in my home

answer 1
It all depends on the cost of electricity in your area, and how many hours you run it. If you run it at 1500 watts 24 hours a day, that would be 36 KWH per day, times whatever a KWH costs. In my area it would be around 8 cents, so that would be around $3 a day, but I'd think the room would get much too hot if you ran it 24x7, so maybe only half that if you run it at the lower setting ($1.50 or so).

There would be too many variables to be able to calculate that cost... It is more efficient than regular ceramic forced air heaters.

Question

is there a thermostat

the picture of the heater shows no thermostat, so does this mean it runs until you shut it off? that could cause a very large electric bill. I think one with a thermostat would be better to deal with & not to try & remember to turn it off.

No thermostat. Just 3 buttons. One to turn on the fan, then 2 other buttons for heat. Low / High. You would have to remember to turn it off....though it never warms a room enough to need to turn it off.

answer 4
There is no thermostat, so YES it runs until you shut it off. I agree with that it could cause a very large electric bill and a very hot house. These infrared units work exceptionally well, but I would spend a little bit more money to get one with a thermostat.

It's never too hot to touch any part of the exterior. However, it is on casters and small (and not so small) kids may be tempted to sit on it and scoot it about.

It does not dry the air (it doesn't dehumidify), but it does not add to already existing humidity, which your dehumidifier reduces, so no, no conflict.
answered 1 year, 10 months ago
By
Waldak
answer 3
It will not compete with your dehumidifier, since, it produces no humidity, just does take make your home dry in low humidity climates

No, the InfraLife 100 is not programmable... Once you feel the room is at the comfortable temperature you want, you can reduce the heat output from 1500 to 700 watts, or turn the heater off. The InfraLife 200 is programmable, for example, with digital heat settings and a digital pre set timer.
