Landscape shows up for some things (apps, movies through Google Play, etc.) But its not on the home screen or if you upload your own videos. HOWEVER apparently you can get an app that makes this possible. I just haven't done it yet. But it is possible to view in landscape for most things WITHOUT the app.

Yes, if you have an internet connection to it! You should be able to IM, Text and email to whomever is on your contact list! You can call and video message (live video) if you have an auxiliary webcam hooked up or have the tablet turned towards you so the frontal camera can catch your image? That's one of the reasons I really love these little tablet PC's is that I can do everything that a smartphone does and more! Best compromise between a cellphone and a PC! Hope this helps! Be Well!

If purchased before September 30, 2012, you have $25 credit to spend at the Play Store. It will show up at the time of payment for an app you may be purchasing. A nice bonus and some very helpful apps are available depending on your needs. I LOVE that there is an app that reads WordPerfect files.

Yes. You have to have a Google Account, because the $25 is given to your Google Play account (which is free - it's all part of your account). If you have a gmail, then that's all you need. You can use the $25 on anything in the Google Play store.

Nope. You can still install Flash on the Nexus 7. It is just no longer being developed or supported for Android devices. There is an easy to follow guide here: http://www.howtogeek.com/120277/how-to-install-flash-on-the-nexus-7-and-other-jelly-bean-devices/

Flash is being phased out on the latest Andoid Jellybean devices in favor of HTML 5. A lot of people do not miss Flash. IPAD does not have it either. However, I missed Flash in watching some web videos. Google chrome, the browser that comes with Nexus 7 does not support Flash. I downloaded the Flash APK app and Dolphin Browser, which does support Flash. I can watch anything now. You have to get Flash APK off the web, the Google Store does not have it. If you google "setting up flash on Nexus 7" you can find detailed instructions. It really is pretty simple. Downloaded Flash, the new browser, enabled Flash on the browser, done.

If you google nexus 7 no flash you can find solutions to this. I have read you can get the beta fire fox browser and sideload flash. Seems like trouble (I hear it is very easy though) but unless you want to buy an older tablet that doesn't have jellybean it's what you have to do.

Question

Can I read this in bright sunlight

I purchased another tablet from Walmart.com and was sorely disappointed with it. Ematic eglide Steal.

Disappointments:

1. Cannot purchase apps from Google Play
2. Cannot play Scrabble Free (downloaded the app and it said did not support screen resolution)
3. Cannot read books poolside or at the beach. Screen goes black.

Will this tablet make me a happy camper and change my disappointments into a miraculous outcome?

Yes, you will be very pleased. If you don't plan on keeping a lot of apps or other files, opt for the 8GB. Otherwise, go with 16GB. Remember, as long as you have a Google account (gmail), you'll get Google Drive, where you can back up 5GB of additional items.

1. If you have a google account the play store will login automatically once setup. I've had 0 problems with mine.

3. It comes preloaded with books and magazines and direct sunlight does not affect screen output if brightness is set to automatic.

You can turn up the brightness, (or let it automatically). Then it'll be okay in sunlight, but it won't be as good as a kindle, that uses a non-backlit screen.

This is by far the best google tablet because google will support the software first on it. You have access to the official google play store not some chinese one. The screen resolution is amazing. As far as using it poolside i do not remember cause i did not bring it with me to the beach. i do not like sand or sun tan lotion all over my devices. But if i remember in direct sun i think the screen does blur a lil. But i would check one out at the store first.

I think so. I went from a $600 Transformer Prime TF201 to this $250 tablet. I find the size, brightness and battery life to be superior. As far as outdoor usage, its pretty good, but prolonged use at it's max brightness will significantly reduce your battery life.

One thing to consider is whether you use polarized sunglasses. My understanding is that by the nature of LCD technology, LCD screens go black at certain angles. If reading books or playing games in vertical orientation (like reading a book) this is not an issue with y polarized sunglasses.

Try it out. Walmart offers a 14 day return policy.
