Hi Dave,
The Jitterbug Plus does have Bluetooth capability and uses a Headset profile for the Bluetooth (just audio is transferred in this profile). The phone will work most bluetooth headsets.

You can call in and they will port your old number if it is still active and your old carrier will release it.

In most cases, GreatCall is able to port in a phone number from your current carrier. Port-in requests may occur immediately or may take 1 to 3 business days (5 to 7 business days if porting a landline). Port In requests require the following information:
• Service number to be ported in 10 digit number only
• Carrier from which the number is being ported
• Account number from original carrier
• Password/PIN number (if required by carrier and/or if set by yourself)
• Last 4 digits of the account holder’s Social Security Number
• Account holder’s name (billing name w/ current carrier)
• Account holder’s billing address on the account with the prior carrier
NOTE: Please verify the following information prior to the request:
• Account is still active.
• Account is not under contract.
• There are no pending orders; i.e. cancellation orders.
Please note your mobile number may or may not be portable depending on the carrier. Once you provide us with the number you would like to port in we will validate it in our system to confirm it is portable. NO CONTRACT? ...

I'm interested in buying a Jitterbug for a very non-techy, non-interested in cell phones for my husband. This might be the one... what does "no contract" mean? buy it for $99.00 on-line, then purchase the minutes (14.99, for 50 minutes per month), correct? - where do I purchase the minutes? And if he doesn't use the 50 minutes in a month, can he carry them over?....can you help with these issues? he would not be using it much at all, but I'd like him to have an easy cell phone for emergencies...

No contract means you can cancel anytime with no fee. When you choose your plan and activate the phone you will need a credit card then they charge your card with the cost of the plan you chose each month until you cancel. The unused minutes carry over for 60 days each month.

GreatCall does not have any contracts, meaning the service can be cancelled at any time. In addition to the phone cost, there is a one-time activation fee of $35. The monthly plans work much like other major service providers. The minutes are automatically added for use at the beginning of each individual customers billing cycle date. After you activate it with Great Call, they will give you the opportunity to use your current phone number.
While doing setup on line, they will give you a number, but as I said, they will allow you to change that to your current number.

This is a no-contract phone and the monthly charges are controlled by the plan that you choose from Jitterbug. As little as my husband uses the phone, he chose the cheapest plan but they have many plans to choose from.

His activation fee came to approx $28 but Jitterbug sales quoted me a activation fee of $35 if phone was purchased from them.

The per minute charges would have to be computed according to the plan you choose and I know nothing about roaming charges.
