Question

Can the audio from this 60" tv be ported to earphones while disabling the built in speakers?

I want to replace an existing Vizio tv which has an earphone jack on the back with this new one if I can figure out how to have the sound go only to the earphones like what I have now.

The TV offers an analog out and optical audio out and yes, you can shut off the internal speakers and still use the audio out port.

With the addition of a home theater unit which has earphone or headset capabilities. The audio is muted from the TV.

There is no earphone jack on this TV. There are two audio outputs. One is a digital (optical) output and the other is RCA (red and white). Unless you can figure out a way to plug headphones into either of those?

The applications will only appear when you launch the app dock using the VIA button on the remote. When the dock is not opened, the apps do not appear on screen.

I haven't found an application on the TV for yahoo mail...only yahoo finance, weather, new, etc.

yes it can, either through a vga cable or if the computer has an HDMI output you can hook it up with an HDMI cable

yes you can hook a compter up but you will need a hdmi cable to do it seeing as most new computer need it if it is a older computer that doesnt do hdmi then i believe it will not work

Great question. I ran into the same problem, the tv only has one rca component hook up. You have to make sure your other components are HDMI. The tv has4 HDMI ports. I did find a convertion cord for my wii system to make it HDMI it only cost $6 and used the rca component hook up for my bose surround. Awesome tv

It doesn't have a s-video input. But, it does have a component video input. But, this is a full HD TV so, you should use the HDMI mostly.

I have a tv media storage stand (wood) that I want to set the TV on, but am afraid it will be too easy to tip. can i some how secure the tv to the stand?

I use the stand that came with the TV. The base is big and there is no way it will tip over. Also the stand is about as heavy as the actual TV so it will anchor it to your media stand very well. Fear not!

We are awaiting our mounting unit and in the meanwhile, we put the stand on it and set it on our old TV stand and it works fine. It does not seem top heavy. So far, so good!

No there is no way to secure it to a tv stand but I can tell you that I have mine on a stand and there is no way to tip it over!

While a sound bar is not necessary, the sound on this tv is pretty weak. In the future you will probably want to get a soundbar to fully enjoy the giant tv.

No it can not access internet websites or surf the web, but it does have yahoo apps for like weather, financial, and new apps and a facebook app. But it cant go and surf the web.

Yes to both. It does WiFi and you can hard wire it with an ethernet cord

no it does not have to be hard wired as long as you have a wirless router it should pick up the signal just do a search an it should be the first one if you do ot have a wireless router then it will need to be hard wired.

yes it can and it great, just get a HD cable plug in your pc then to the tv and go to menu and select the plug you pluged it into.

It has a VGA input. I haven't personally attached a computer, but the answer appears to be yes. Note that the 60" TV across the room will not appear any bigger than a 27" monitor on your desk.
