The M470VSE also has a faster panel response time of 6.5ms versus the 9ms for the M470SL.

In looking at the specs, the one thing that stands out is the difference in the contrast ratio ... the SL is 200,000 to 1 ... the VSE is 1,000,000 to 1 (which should result in deeper blacks). I am not entirely positive, but it looks like the VSE very well might be the new model / replacement for the SL.

The Vizio sets don't ship with a full manual. You'll have to go to their website to get the PDF version in the support section.

My guess is aside from the cost to print all those manuals, they are saving the environment and also know that most of us toss the manual once we've become accustomed to the TV features and functions. I do agree it's a bit of an inconvenience.

Yup the panel response time has been improved from 9ms to 6.5ms. The shortest time that the human eye can differentiate movement is in fact 6ms, so this should make the overall image motion smoother (less ghosting).

The M470SL started manufacturing in January of 2012 and the M470VSE started in September of 2012

The two models are just about the same, the SL has 4 HDMI ports and the VSE has 3 besides the contrast ration of 200,000:1 DCR for the SL and 1,000,000:1 DCR for the VSE.

Yes, the TV is easily wall mounted. The wall mount needs to be VESA compliant and the hole pattern is 300 (V) x 400 (H). Make sure it is for a 47" TV and able to hold at least 35 lbs.

the vizio response is not helpful because they think you are asking about screen response time, but you are asking about the time it takes for the tv to turn on or 'boot'. although I don't have this tv, i have the vizio 422LE, whcih also has wifi and apps, I can just about guarantee it takes about 30 seconds to turn on. this is pretty much a normal time for an internet tv/device as it has to 'boot' it's system, just like your laptop/desktop/phone etc.
my samsung blueray (with wifi & apps) also takes about this long. not a big deal really, imo.
