it uses HDMI out and Coax out. it is impractical to connect to older TVs that only have Composite Video and Analog audio. Technically you can purchase an HDMI to Analog converter but then the price for that gadget would be much more than the player itself. So better buy a BD Player with Analog outputs for your old TV; or upgrade your old TV to one with HDMI like LCD/LED models. It defeats the purpose of having a high resolution source played on a low resolution monitor.

Doesn't matter. if your player is close to the tv then 4 ft. If it is farther away then whatever length is needed. you won't lose any picture or sound quality.

answer 4
It all depends on how far away you tv is. I would get around 24" at the shortest
answered 5 months, 1 week ago
By
MFaur
answer 5
It depends on the distance from the back of your TV to where you plan on putting the Bluray player. An average length cord is 6 feet and works well for most setups. If you are really unsure of the cable length that you need then get a piece of string or rope and pretend like you are hooking up the player to your TV. Then measure the rope or string.

Manufacture recommends HDMI cable length less than 4.5 meters or less than 14.5 feet. See manual page 16. http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-BP125

Can I hook it up to a non flat screen tv ?

Not as is. The outputs are HDMI (which outputs digital video, audio and (if equipped Ethernet data) and Coaxial (which is a digital AUDIO output).

You would require an HDMI to composite convertor. There are blueray players that have composite outputs in addition to HDMI.

The only connections on this player are HDMI (found on HDTVs only) and Coaxial out. You should be able to use the coaxial out connection to connect to your tv if you have a coaxial in connector on your model of tv.

It has HDMI and Analog Out. Analog out is the Red, White, Yellow wires. Check your TV. If it has these connections, then you're good.

But if your TV doesn't have HDMI, then you're wasting your money. You would be buying a unit that outputs high quality Audio + Video....and running it to a horrible TV. Doesn't really make sense? But yes, it would still work with older TVs.

Can you hook up a surround sound to it

answer 1
As long as you have a receiver box that accepts HDMI for your surround sound, I do not see why not.

other ways to do it would be to hook it up to your tv and then (if your tv has an audio out or optical out) to hook up a cable to the surround sound system from there

This thing decodes dolby digital 7.1 and DTS but it can only output dolby 2.0. It's clearly printed on the top of the unit above the power button. So you would never get more than a 2.0 (Left Channel + Right Channel). No center, no surround, no subwoofer.
