It doesn't work without batteries. It has no electrical cord, thus two "D" sized batteries are the only way it can function.

answer 2
It is difficult to say how long they will last, as the batteries drain at a higher rate when the light is turned all the way up. The reverse is also true. Therefor, the greater the light - - - the greater the drain.

Like everything else-depends on how much you use it.

read on the box that 4 batteries will last about 4 1/2 hours. If you will be using this much, it would probably be best to get 2 or 3 sets of rechargeable batteries for it.

We did not experience this problem. Perhaps you could take the battery door off, and put it back on. Maybe the batteries are not inserted all the way.

Depends on quality of batteries and usage times.

It is just two DD batteries. I would say it drains the battery as much as an old boom box, and much more than a basic flashlight

well i guess that would be hard to answer. it all depends what you use it for and how long you have it lit. i would think if it is used for a power outage only when needed it would last a long time . 100000 hours is a long time

answer 2
We are not using this as a main source of lighting, so I don't know about 100,000 hours. I believe it is meant to be used like a flashlight, as a backup source of light.

Hi.
I have had this lantern for over a year. As far as I understand, you will never need to replace the LED lights. I don't think they would wear out before the lantern does :) This is a great lantern, and I don't think you would be disappointed with it.
Hope that helps.

I don't know the wattage of this product but I can tell you that it is not very bright and does not light up a very small room ( 5 feet by 6 feet).

By
kinglear99
answer 2
I am unsure of the wattage, but it is a 12 bulb system. I say one would light up an area of about 2 square yards well, then fade beyond that.
