Some say yes and others say no. Sig's website says it is beyond milspec. It does have features that are and are not milspec. There should be two "push pins" in the receiver to remove play (this is not milspec).
If you want a milspec rifle you should buy the Colt.

Magpul makes picatinni rails that are attachable to this forearm. Allowing you to mount any type of accessory. Or you can replace the MOE forearm with a quadrail forearm.

answer 2
Very easy... You can put all the "Eye" Candy you want on these.
answered 2 years ago
By
TraerIowa
answer 3
theres a 1913 picitinny rail on top for a scope/reflex/red dot etc; but the forend is molded polymer w/out rails. you might be able to get individual rails that will attach to this particular forend, otherwise you'll have to swap out the forend that comes on the rifle for ones w/ rails on them if you want a foregrip, light, laser etc;. If you want to stick w/ polymer, check out tapco.

answer 4
It has a top rail only. However, you can remove the forward hand guards and put in a custom AR rail set, as they have the standard retention ring found on most ARs
answered 2 years ago
By
caboose67
answer 5
Very. Magpul MOE forend is easily adaptable with all kinds of tactical add ons - just do a quick search. The flat top section (picatinney rail) is ready to co-witness your favorite optic such as EoTech or Trijicon. Or with the right rings a decent AR scope.

Question

HOW CAN THIS BE A COMPETITIVE SHOOTING GUN WITH IRON SITES?

CAN THE IRON SITES BE TAKEN OFF TO ADD A TOUGH NONELECTRIC 100-300 YARD SCOPE? CAN I LEAVE THE IRON SITES ON TO CO-WITNESS IN CASE OF SCOPE FAILURE? WHAT IS A GOOD 3-9 X 40 SCOPE AND WHAT RISERS AND TOOLS DO I NEED? MAYBE A PRO JOB HUH?

This is an easy at home fix. Get a hold of your local hunting Catalog and pick out what you want and the mounts(risers) can be added to give you the extra benefit of the iron sights. Or go to your local gun shop and they can help you pick up everything you need to get set up!!!

answer 2
The front site can be removed rather easy, it's held on with roll pins but must be replaced with a gas block of some sort. Yankee Hill makes high quality parts. But the front site does not effect a regular rifle scope, you can not see the front site in the scope. I have a 3x9x40mm on mine.
answered 1 year, 11 months ago

answer 3
If you want to be in competition - buy the Windham - as it is a flat top. You can easily mount a scope on this and the front sight will be noticeable - not NOT by that much. This is not a 600+ meter rifle. Those, are in the $2000+ range.
answered 2 years ago
By
TraerIowa
answer 4
There is a top rail for mounting a scope. You can use a riser on the top rail for your scope if the front site interferes. I believe you can remove the front site, but not sure. The rear site folds down to allow for scope installation.

By
caboose67
answer 5
Have you done any research on this weapon? First off, the rear sight is flip down. However, you can probably leave it in the up position with a scope on. Secondly, this is a tactical rifle with the intended use to be for close quarters action. While the rifle is capable of engaging your target at that distance, a 100-300 yard scope is not the proper application. If you're looking for something like that, then shop for a different rifle. This is a 16" weapon, may I suggest a Mini-14 or a Springfield M1? If you still want this weapon then I suggest you look into holographic sites, and if you must have some magnification then look at a magnifier. EOtech, Aimpoint make great products. If you have to ask this much about the weapon, then you must not know much about competitive shooting. Good luck.

By

answer 4
Yes, the .223/.556 magazines are interchangeable between all AR15 platforms as long as your gun shoots both of these types of ammo. If not, the magazines are interchangeable still, but make sure if you have a gun that only shoots .223 you do not put a .556 round in it.
