Can I uninstall Windows 8 & install XP Pro?
I bought this laptop without having ever been subjected to Windows 8. I figured, "It's Windows, how different/bad can it be?"
My own fault.
So now I'm stuck with a laptop I simply will *not* use, as is, so spare me any sort of Win8 peptalk. Not interested, will never be interested. I will not use Windows 8, period, the end.
So, that said- can I purge the system of WinPad 8 and install a real OS, or do I need to just return my laptop and write it off forever?

I would make sure you create a recovery disk and image the HD before a downgrade. In reference to your comment on Windows 8, play around a little more it actually will grow on you. There are some fantastic features within the Metro environment and the desktop is still available. I can understand and relate that the no start button and the tiles can be overwhelming. Trust me in no time at all you will fly around. Lastly, it may take time and you can always right click a tile and pin to the desktop until you feel comfortable maneuvering. Hope this helped!
