You can back them up to a gmail account, transfer them via bluetooth, or even back them up to the SDcard.

You will need to bluetooth the phones to each other to do it, not via your car.

It really is a simple process and should pose no problems at all.

Mike, I haven't tried the dropped calls or roaming on the road yet, but, I will tell you that I was dropping calls like crazy at my rural home in south GA and with the purchase of this phone, I am no longer dropping calls. I know that certain areas are considered Verizon or AT&T areas and I live in a Verizon area. I hope you can get the roaming question answered, but, in case you can't I thought this may be helpful. I will say that I have traveled and lived all over the country with Verizon service and I can't think of too many places where I couldn't get a signal, whether it be Verizon or roaming. And I have been in the middle of nowhere places out west in places like WA and OR and still got roaming most of the time with Verizon. Good luck.

This phone does not roam. It will connect to and only use Verizon towers.

You should have good service throughout the lower 48.

If you get Verizon there, then yet it will. Do not rely on the Walmart Zipcode search as it is not even close to being reliable.

IF you mean by "front facing", when you look at the display is there a camera to take you pic? Like for skype, etc.? NO! Looking at the display, the camera is on the "back" of the phone, away from you.

I am not sure if it works in your zip code, but if Verizon has coverage there, it will work, as this phone utilizes Verizon towers. As far as keeping your number, you can and it is called porting. During activation online, you can choose to get a new number, or port your old one. When I ported mine, it was released within a few minutes. Some carriers have been known to drag their feet releasing your number and could take up to 48 hours. The number that you port must also be an active working number, so make sure you don't cancel your current phone until the number has successfully been ported!

If you get Verizon there, then yes it will.

And you can port your number also. Just follow these directions:

1) Call your current provider and get your account and pin numbers.
2) Activate this phone on the Straight Talk website. Click Activate, then transfer number. Put the dot in Activate my Straight Talk Service with a number from another company. Be sure to use the exact same account information(name, address, etc).
3) You will need a service card for activation. This can be done at activation. This phone will only use the $45 Unlimited or the $60 International Unlimited.
4) After all activation steps have been completed you will usually have a full functioning phone within an hour or two 99% of the time
5) Enjoy your new Samsung Galaxy S Showcase

You have to purchase a card each month either from straightalk.com, walmart store, or you can purchase one online at walmart.com and they will send you an email with a PIN number. Just be sure to add a card before your time runs out or you will lose your phone number.

My personal experience has been better with Straight Talk than with Verizon. I can now call in some spots that I couldn't before. There are "dead spots" some places, no matter who's service you use.

answer 2
No they do not. This phone uses Verizon prepaid towers. You will have the same service that regular Verizon users have, though they have a higher priority on the tower usually.
