Texting?

Does anyone know how the texting is. Does it have a qwerty keyboard?? And how is the voice quality

Missi, this phone only has three "Buttons". Power, Volume up and Volume down. Everything else on the phone is "Touch" on the Glass type buttons. Yes it has a QWERTY keyboard or the standard T9 digital style tap keyboard available. Texting works well and consumes approx. 1/3rd of a minute per each SMS 160 character text message both inbound and outbound. The best part is that this is a Triple Minutes for Life phone, so for every 1 minute you pay for, you wind up with 3 on your phone. MMS messages that contain video or pictures will cost more to send and receive depending on the size of the pictures or attachments. Voice quality is outstanding on my phone and volume is nice and loud.

Why does your website warn about service in 33952 zip code

walmart database was wrong for my zip too. phone is sold in our local walmart. works just great. i send WM an email and told them but they have not fixed the problem. i checked my zip on the TF web site to verify it would work before buying. Also some phones "will work" if you just buy the phone but a "bundle" and the same phone will NOT work. i sent an email about that too but no changes have been made to their web site. WM is missing out on potential revenue. too bad for WM.

don't use the search program on this Walmart site, it seems to say "no" to all zip codes, go to the Tracfone site(link below) you will find this phone is among the ones they list for your area, happy phoning......

Question

Why won't the Lg840G call out from a paired device?

I have an LG840G which I have paired with my phone system on my 2010 Toyota Venza. It had been working fine until a couple of weeks ago. I received a call which I answered on the car receiver, but got no response from the caller. I have tried calling out from the car and the cell phone makes the call, but immediately disconnects before I can talk. I took the car in to the Toyota dealer thinking that there might be a problem with the car's system, but the tech was able to connect his cell phone to the system and make and receive calls, so the problem seems to be with the cell phone. Any ideas?

You might want to try this method first to save your info and settings.
Go to; Bluetooth/My Devices/Options (icon top right of the screen)/Delete/Select "suspect" Device/Delete,
Turn the phone off and back on, then re-pair the two

On your Toyota your dealer serviceman already tried and tested pairing and it worked. That's good.

Now you can try a Reset on your Tracfone. I think you will lose your contacts and messages stored onboard the phone during this process. Before you start, remove the microsd card and don't do this Master Reset while inside your Toyota.

On your phone go to Settings then to Master Reset. This will return your phone to default settings, including Bluetooth.

Question

will Lg 840g pair with Ford sync bluetooth?

Has anyone had problems pairing The sync Bluetooth in Ford vehicles to LG 840G Trac. We tried, didn't work. Dealership could not make it pair as well. Spoke with Trac Corporate; they could not understand why didn't work either. Quick response appreciated.

Max, yes you CAN pair the two, even though everyone says it's not possible. First, configure the phone -- ALL contacts must be stored on the SIM card, rather than phone memory. The phone will usually store contact to "memory" by default... you'll have to swap them to the SIM card in the "contacts" list. Also, the telephone numbers have to be entered with the "1" preceding the number. Sync won't recognize the entries, without that format. Ok, once you have that completed, the phone is ready. Now, go into the "phone" settings in the Sync system and delete ALL info from the previous phone, including the contact list #phonebook#. Then, switch on the Bluetooth on the LG840...the Sync system should walk you through the pairing process and then ask if you want to "download phonebook". Tell it "yes". After that, you should be good to go. Mine works as well as it did with the Galaxy S3 that was previously connected. I hope this helps!!

You know, one would think that 'Bluetooth' operating specs. would be the same from device to device. As you have found there are problems. Could be as simple as a wire bundle shielding the rec. antenna port or simply, will not work. If the reception port is visible is there a 'film' of protection over the trim somewhere that is still in place. (this for wireless). For plugin, it isn't impossible for small mini harness to be defective. Try another. I hope any of this helps. Good Luck. ( i am trained in 2-way Radio Communications)

Don't say what kind of "old phone" you have, so shooting in the dark here...
A: Bluetooth
B: Directly via mini/to/mini USB cable
C: To PC from old phone then to new phone
D: Put old phone's SD card in new phone. (and/or) move pic's to internal memory, reinstall new SD card and move pic's to it
E: Email
F: Text
G: Osmosis, Telepathy, Smoke Signals

You will have to purchase a separate cable (if you don't already have one# that will allow you to transfer photos from this phone #or computer, etc.) The only thing that can be transferred from one Tracfone to another is the phone # & current minutes. Hope this helps. I contacted Tracfone and this is what they told me.

This phone is packed with a 2GB microSD card already installed, so that will hold lots of MP3's. The phone claims to handle up to a 32GB microSD card, and pretty much any brand should work just fine. There is only 1 microSD slot inside the phone near the battery, so its not something that you will want to change very often as you have to remove the back cover of the phone to get to it.

This LG840G supports MicroSD cards up to 32GB in capacity. I am partial to Samsung and SanDisk brands. They are readily available at many retailers/e-tailers, including Walmart.
