ST Home phone is only on the Verizon network. If you get Verizon signal in you zip code, then it will work for you. You can go to walmart.com and pull up the ST Home phone system, enter your zip code and it will tell you if it works in your zip.

According to some reviews I've read, StraightTalk uses different cell towers in different areas and they try to keep that a secret. This question might not be answerable.

To at least see if it will work in your area, you can use the tool on this walmart website.

Question

buying several cards at 1 time

answer 1
They have auto refill if you want to ensure the service remains active and that way you do not have to worry about buying more than one card. If you buy more than 1 card at a time, any additional cards would be added to your reserve to be used when your 30 days are up.

There are several options. Here are three:

1. Buy several cards from Walmart and then give all the codes to Straight Talk at one time where they will put them in your "reserve account" and will extend your "Service End Date" out to correspond with how many codes (or as Walmart calls them, a PIN) you put in your reserve.

2. Purchase service directly from Straight Talk for as many months as you'd like. You can do this online or over the phone. This method doesn't require transferring codes as you'd have to do when purchasing service cards from Walmart.

3. Enroll in Auto-Refill at Straight Talk where Straight Talk will automatically charge your credit or debit card each month for service in advance. This is the most convenient way to do it as you don't have to even think about having to pay each month or buy service cards. However, it does require you to give Straight Talk a credit or debit card number to keep on file and some don't like doing that.

You can buy as many cards as you like because you can put them in reserve. So make sure that you have a reserve account so that all your cards are not for the same time period. In reserve, your time goes on as the one on there expires.

answer 5
Yes, you can buy multiple cards for service and refill your account one at a time each month, or you can add ALL the cards to your Reserve from which they'll "withdraw" each month's fee.

You can go online to your account (after you set it up) and do all kinds if stuff like Manage your Reserve Account. Or you can call them and have a CSR add them to your Reserve Account.

Question

can you get caller id

answer 1
ST Home phone has caller ID. The incoming phone number is displayed on your home phone receiver, if it has caller ID capabilities. If you want the name of the caller, it's just like your cell phone and will display the caller name and number if you have programmed the contact info into your home phone, if it has that capability. Most cordless home phones have contact programming capabilities now.

It includes caller ID, although I read another review that says the caller ID includes number only, not name. So, it is caller ID like a cell phone. Basically, it is a cell phone that you plug your landline handset into.

Question

does this service plan come with call waiting, call forwarding and voice mail

asked 1 year, 2 months ago

Yes. The ST Home Phone has the following features:

"$15/30-Day Home Phone Unlimited* Nationwide Calling. Local and Long Distance Calling includes voicemail, caller ID, 3-way calling, call waiting, call forwarding, E911 and 411 at no extra cost."

Only disappointment is that Caller ID delivers the caller's number only, no name... so far. I'm hoping they add the name at some point in the future?

You have to set up voicemail for 1st use, then you access your voice mail messages with *86.

Call forwarding is activated by dialing *72 followed by the other tel. number. It's deactivated with *73.

No problem with incoming calls. I have had problems making outgoing calls. About a third of the time, I get "your call cannot be completed as dialed". Generally the Verizon networks decides I did it right and puts the call through.

Probably not since they say:

"Straight Talk Wireless Home Phone is not compatible with data services such as: fax machines, DVR services, credit card machines, medical alert services, or some home security systems."

Note the "data services" ref. If your med system doesn't operate as a data device, then call your med system service provider and ask if it works over a cell phone connection that must dial out to send a signal.
