I think my first answer was wrong... I got wrapped up in your word "dormant" assuming you didn't want to pay for service while in one of your locations.
Actually, I believe that, if you keep your same tel. number, either one they assign or your ported number from another service, you can just move the box back and forth, as long as both places are within network reach (cell towers).
In that case, you could use their auto-refill plan (nice!) and keep using your ST Home Phone wherever you're within their Nationwide network.
I'd check with their CS on that too! -:)
No. It only works if it has been "refilled" for another month, either with a new purchased card, or by auto-refill, or by applying "Reserve" time added with multiple cards, which you can manage online or with CS.
Here's what they say about letting your phone go "inactive":
"Why would my phone number be cancelled if I do not refill my account on time?
Straight Talk Wireless pays all charges to the carriers every month when we issue you a wireless phone number for your use. If you stop buying Service Plans or adding Service Cards or refilling your account, Straight Talk Wireless will stop paying the charges on that line for your use and will reassign that telephone number to a new Straight Talk Wireless customer. All it takes to get your phone Activated again is to buy and add a new Service Plan."
So, I believe you can go to your vacation home and activate there with a number they assign (easier than porting in each place), refill for whatever months you'll be there, then bring the box back home and re-activate it at home. However, I don't think they can "reserve" a specific tel. number for a box that moves back and forth?
However, I'd check with their CS to be sure.
