No these products do not come with a disk. They do sell a version with the backup CD available. But what you will get is a registration card. You will have to sign up for a Microsoft account if you do not already have one. And then you will enter the registration card code for the download and install of the actual product. They say it is so they can keep track of the software. Which a CD will work for. It is so they can keep track of all the things you do on your PC or device.

Yes; provided the other computer has the 2013 version of PowerPoint installed. If you know in advance that it has an earlier version, i.e. 2010, you can save it in the earlier version on your computer and it will then play on the other computer.

You get a box that has a card with a key number on it. Also the box contains instructions on how to get the download. It actually comes from Microsoft's web site. You need the key number to access it.

The down load is quick. Installation, not so much. But once installed, you can just run with it.

I had contacted Microsoft and from their customer service to tech support both agree and state there is no product DVD/CD for office 2013. It is all downloaded and they either email or send you the link and key to your product.

You can buy a key code that will allow you to down load it on to more than one computer. I bought one that allowed me to put it on 3.

Its actually a download. And that is correct the license is for only one computer. If needed, they have approved for emergency to reinstall this to a new computer if the one went bad.

The license for this product is yours until you decide to upgrade it to an newer version. I believe the product that would expire would be Microsoft office 365.

No. You can keep using this one forever on the same computer. I don't know if you can transfer it to a new computer if you need to: I would guess there's a way, but I'm not sure.

The issues with keeping it up for the long time are that at some point Microsoft will stop supporting it, and, farther down the line, it may lose compatibility with newer hardware or operating systems.

But the license itself does not expire after 1 year, or ever, as far as I know.

2013 is much more cloud oriented--though you can ignore that if you don't want your files up there.

The style of the interface is the Metro look that Microsoft is using these days. Matter of taste, I suppose. The actual features seem to be pretty much the same is 2010. I haven't found any functional differences so far.

Hello there,

The Office Home & Student 2013 is the latest Office suite designed to help you create and organize faster with new, time saving features and a clean, modern look. Plus, you can save your documents in the cloud on SkyDrive and access them virtually anywhere. With Office Home and Student 2010, you do not have these features or options available.

I hope this was helpful to you.

Check the Microsoft site and if you are an engineering student and if your school is on their list, you can get it for free. Check the list to see what other majors are exempt and get it for free. There is a 4-year discount for students, but need to pre-qualify first by their registration system and somehow involves the school's verification.

Hello there,

Microsoft provides the Office Home and Student Edition at a discounted rate. Students can receive additional discounts and academic savings through their college and/or university. Check with your technology administrator, campus book or computer store, or third-party online education resellers to find out if your institution has a license agreement with Microsoft. For more information, please visit : http://www.microsoft.com/education/en-us/buy/Pages/academicsavings.aspx

I hope this is helpful to you.
