What is the difference between a VUE and regualr model?

on Keurig Vue V500 Single Serve Coffeemaker Brewing System
If you want to use the k-cups and your own coffee with the VUE 500, 600, or 700 you need to purchase an adapter which I found to be very expensive, $38.00. Its called the solofill V2, it comes with 3 pieces. You can purchase the solofill V3 at walmart for $12 but it is only to fill your own coffee, YOU CANNOT USE K-CUPS WITH THE V1 or V3 MODEL!!! The temperatures settings range from 187* to 197*, comes default at 192*. It has regular or strong on the coffee settings 4-16 ozs depends on how strong you want as to the ozs you brew, Tea/latte 6-12ozs and Hot Cocoa 6-10ozs. You can program the brewer to turn on each morning so you won't have to wait for the brewer to warm up. You can also program the brewer to turn off in increments of hours, ie 2 hours in case you forget to turn it off although that is not necessary but only to save on electricity. I do not find it necessary to purchase the water filter kit as I use bottled water anyway. De-scaling is recommended periodically. I hope this helps in making your decision.
The Vue will make 2-step cafe drinks (like a lattee) - with the right Vue cup of course. ;) Also, the Vue allows the user to choose the oz of the beverage (8, 10, 12, 14, or 16 oz) and the user can adjust the temperature of the brew, which is great if you like really hot coffee like I do. Finally, the Vue does not come with (or have, as far as I can tell - but a Google search is always a good idea) a K-cup equivalent, so there is no way to brew your own coffee with it.
The VUE only uses pods which are only available from Keurig.com to my knowledge, while the pods for the K-CUP (regular model) are available just about everywhere. Also, there are refillable/reusable pods available for the K-CUP so that you could use your own coffee.
Vue cups are much harder to find than K-Cups and more expensive
They use different pods -- the k-cup machines use k-cups and the VUE machines use V cups, which are bigger. You CANNOT mix and match the different cups unless you get an adapter (solofill v2 is the only one I know of at the moment). In my experience, the VUE actually brews a better cup of coffee and has a lot more options when it comes to drink temperature and the types of drinks you can brew. The VUE pods are also recyclable, if that matters to you.
regular model is awesome! vue stinks! good luck find coffee cups (can't buy k-cups) and there is not reusable filter available ANYWHERE
The Keurig Vue builds in many more brewing options. Rather just coffee you can brew tea and specialty drinks. There are K-cups for tea and other types of drinks, however the Vue lets you specialize them with specific settings for tea, coffee, hot cocoa, brewing over ice and café style drinks like lattes and cappuccinos.
Vue does more things such as makes Latte's and Cappuccinos. Vue cups are a bit harder to find. Can be expensive but you can buy the cup to put your own coffee it it. Great fresh coffee every time! Small one is great for limited space kitchens and there is no water tank on it.
Biggest difference is you can't find the VUE packs ANYWHERE and when you do, choices are limited and more expensive.
This machine will only take VUE cups, which are different from K-cups.
As far as I can tell the only difference is the Keurig Vue does NOT use the k-cups like all the other Keurigs. And Walmart does not sell the Vue cups
From what I could gather is they both use different cups, Vcups for Vue Machines and Kcups for the Keurig machines. The the Vue machine has a knob for temperature control now. The Keurig machines do not. Just a set temperature. This is about what i could figure out. The prices vary but due to the bells and whistles. I ordered the V500 during Black Friday so leaving soon to pick it up.
