Yes inside the coffee maker housing it has a very easy to read 5 cup water fill indicator.

answer 2
Yes, but t is in an obscure place - you have to look in from the top on the inside (left side) there is a "stair-step" style water level indicator - rather stupid design on that aspect.

answer 3
There is one but it's on the inside of the well and cannot be seen without opening the lid. If you're looking for a coffee maker with the clear glass/plastic indicator on the outside, this does not have one of them.

answer 4
Not on the outside ... I am thinking you are looking for a clear window-type fill indicator. On the inside of the water well, there are white step-like indicators with numbers on them. I agree, these are harder to read, but the carafe has cup lines on it, so no biggie really.

I use about 20 ounces of bottled water and get three cups of coffee in a regular size coffee mug or about 6 ounces

answer 2
In the USA a cup = 8 ounces, and that does not vary unless you go to the UK where they may use the metric system.
answered 8 months ago
By
doontoonkc
answer 3
In the USA that would officially be 8 ounces. I use two level tablespoons of coffee for a 17 ounce bottle of water and pour the first 16 ounces into my mug (to avoid the grounds) ... gives me a perfect BIG cup of coffee!

answer 4
My experience is that coffee pot "cups" are considered 5 oz...seems to be fairly standard at all levels.
Just consider this a 24 oz coffee pot.
16 oz. in a mug and some to drink right away!

Question

Do you have to purchase an additional filter the little filter not for the coffee itself?

Do you clean the little filter just the same as the big filter or do you have to purchase additional filters for the water purifier?

After the first month, just throw the little filter ball away, but put the empty holder back into the machine. No need to buy more of those tiny "chlorine" filters ... just use bottled water!

You can use either of the filters.

The filters cost about $9.00 for 2 I don't use them and still get a great cup of coffee. Call me cheap but I never noticed a difference in my coffee.

answer 6
some people choose to use paper filters but you do not need them. you just dump the grinds out and rinse off the filter and you are good to go. 1x a month i use a little vinegar and water to pass through it . you do have to purchase additional water filters. but you do not have to have the filter in there if you dont want to. it just makes the coffee taste better imo.

I have owned several of the GE makers similar to this one. Since Walmart changed from GE to Farberware they have quit selling the filters. I have looked on line with no luck. I guess when the filter stops working, take it back and exchange it for a new coffee maker. The instructions recommend changing the water filter every 30 days.

I clean the glass carafe with soap and hot water daily, and daily I rinse the stainless steele coffee filter and let it air dry on a paper towel...but why would we need to clean the coffee maker housing with soap and water or vinegar? The only thing put inside the housing is clean (filtered) water it doesn't get dirty.

My previous answer referred to cleaning the machine. To clean just the "pot," best bet is top shelf of your dishwasher ... take off the top first and toss it in there, then put in the pot upside down.

I do wash the glass carafe after each use, and I remove the coffee filter rinse it and let it dry out on a paper towel daily. But I have had my Farberware Coffee Maker for a year and I have never cleaned the housing. Why would I need to celan the housing after each use? It doesn't get dirty, the only thing inside the housing is clean filtered water. And yes, remove the charcoal (chlorine) filter before washing the housing (just set it on a paper towel).
