When you clean the coffee pot after each use, do you have to take the charcoal filter out each time to dry out?
the instructions says to wash the filter housing, permanent filter and measuring cup. It says to dry all parts and then it says remove the charcoal filter holder, but doesn't say to dry it out...not very clear.

I change the filter every 50 pots of coffee. That is the only time I remove it from the tank. Had mine for almost a year, makes great coffee.

I do wash the glass carafe after each use, and I remove the coffee filter rinse it and let it dry out on a paper towel daily. But I have had my Farberware Coffee Maker for a year and I have never cleaned the housing. Why would I need to celan the housing after each use? It doesn't get dirty, the only thing inside the housing is clean filtered water. And yes, remove the charcoal (chlorine) filter before washing the housing (just set it on a paper towel).

No, the charcoal filter stays in the water tank. We don't even use it, though. The tap water here is good enough that we don't need to.

Yes, you dry it out.
