Depends on whether the website you're selecting (This isn't TV- it's an Internet TV directory service...) has an IP range block that prevents you from using their services from abroad.

use it to watch TV episodes on your computer. It plugs into the USB port on your computer.
If you are tech savy, you can connect your computer to your TV thru the HDMI ports on both devices, and transfer the Rabbit TV transmission thru your computer to your TV.

If the event is being streamed online, generally, yes. But for example, to see the NFL playoff games on FOX online you have to sign in with your cable provider so if you don't have cable you can't watch. But with CBS and NBC football games, you can just watch without going through that. Same deal with ESPN games-you need to sign in to watch. They do have some other sports and you can subscribe to certain things like basketball and hockey (maybe baseball too) for a fee but other than that, it's less common sports that are found there and not all the time.
