Is this truly a smart phone?
The product information is confusing to me concerning whether or not it is truly a smart phone. Not exactly tech savvy but I don't understand why the info says you have to have a wireless connection.

You do not need Wifi. Wifi will make browsing faster but the straight talk service provides internet. You can go to any website basically. The site does not have to support mobile devices. There is GPS on the spot location. It's truly a smart phone. It has everything from GPS to internet to taking videos and apps. You can play games and chat face to face with someone(rear and front cameras). It has a great speak-to-text feature that translate words very well to text. Basically like a Samsung Galaxy SII with a few differences.
This is a smartphone, in every essence of the word.
Since Straight Talk does have data caps(they will never admit it), the WiFi is there for you to limit your data use(3G) when at home.
Essentially a smartphone is a mini computer and phone tied into one, hence this device. Androids and iPhones are smartphones.
The old flip style phones are called feature phones. Anything that is not running Android of iOS is a feature phone.
