Needing a credit card has nothing to do with the device, but everything to do with the providing service. It's GooglePlay and iTunes that require credit cards. You may be able to get a pre-paid VISA card to use. Just load a few dollars on it and only use it for app purchases.

answer 2
I suppose many book readers (Overdrive, Nook, Kindle) allow you to control font size within the application. I use Overdrive and download books from my local library system. I can change the font size, background (day/night) etc. I would look into the book reader you're interested in to see if their Android variant supports pinch/zoom or if it's controlled within the application another way.

On websites I've been able to pinch/zoom with no problem.

Yes it will pinch zoom. It will depend on what app you use to read your book though. But since this is Google Certified you can use any of the billion ebook readers on Google Play.

answer 4
It depends on what app you use. The tablet has no control over the ereader app you use which is either installed with that feature or not.
I use Alkido for all my books and you can zoom in and out pinching. You can choose to use any of the other ereader apps such as Stanza, Kindle (the worst even though it's the most popular), Alkido, or Google Books. There are a bunch more that I haven't even looked into.

Yes it does. It has everything you could want in a tablet. I have been searching for over a year for one. It's better than a Google tablet, because it is upgradeable to 32GB, it has the feature where you can sync tablet to tablet or tablet to phone, really cool. I have not found anything that it doesn't have.

Not sure if there's a specific one from Hisense but since they use micro-usb for their charging port (and file transfer port) I use it with the micro-usb car charger I got from Verizon years ago for my wife's cell phone. Works like a charm.
answered 5 months, 4 weeks ago
By

answer 3
It takes a normal micro USB charger. The charger that comes with it is 5V 2.0A which is the same as high end phones. In other words there are a billion car chargers for it. The trick is finding one that rocks. Don't buy the cheapest one. A good Galaxy S4 phone charger would work great. A Galaxy S2 charger doesn't put out 2A so it won't work. Get a 2A or 2.1A charger and you are good to go.

It uses micro USB. You can find a micro USB AC or Car adapter in almost every store in the country. Walmart, dollar tree, dollar general, kmart, target, most every gas station. Pretty much everywhere except Pizza delivery or a liquor store has that

I never could get Google Nav to work. It always lost the signal and then had to reconnect with WIFi to start over.

Splurge and get CoPilot. It's a true fully-functional offline Nav app. It lets you select which areas to download, and works offline. It also has nice features like selecting two different parameters to display (Speed, heading, altitude, eta, etc), switching to night mode automatically based on position, and taking user corrections if you find a mistake. Worth the price, especially considering the cost of a Garmin with a much smaller screen.

If you need to check live traffic or gas prices, either use your phone as a hotspot, or pull into McDonalds or somewhere else with free wifi and check it, then continue on. I never really need to, and have successfully navigated with CoPilot all over three states.

answer 3
According to Google's "Access maps offline" page found at:
https://support.google.com/gmm/answer/3246076

"The amount of map that you can make available offline will depend on the amount of storage on your device. If you have limited storage, making a new area available offline may replace your previously offlined maps. If you are offline for a long period, typically more than 14 days, or clear application data for Google Maps for mobile, your offlined maps will also be deleted."

So if you want to use it offline, be sure you have enough storage space available and save the maps less than 14 days before your journey !!

Download Copilot the free version in the Google Play store. It is a Full GPS with turn by turn navigation. The best free gps app. Google maps is good, but if you do not have a constant data connection, than you cannot use it. Make sure you download the maps via wifi connection on copilot before you use it.

answer 5
First you have to have a wifi connection and you load in Google maps the map sections of the areas that you are going to want to see in gps. Now in Google maps there is a feature that you can save that map to read in off line mode. So you would save all those map areas you want to use in GPS. Then when you are traveling and have no wifi access, you should be able to see where you are with your GPS using your downloaded maps.

Yes, there is dedicated GPS receiver and it works great. I've used it in a variety of settings with excellent results... Walking, in my car (with Waze), and on my boat. GPS is often missing on these little tablets, but it is NOT missing on the Sero 7 Pro.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks, now, and I know the spec list is unbelievable when you look at the price. But, you can believe what you read. I am VERY impressed at what they have for the price! They really do blow any other 7 inch tablet away...

except for the $600 Note 8, but that isn't 7 inch, and the $400 Asus FonePad (not the Padphone... ick!) But both of those are also phones and not available in the US. (The Note 8 you can buy here is the crippled, wifi-only version) And they are three times the price or more.

Hdmi output resolution

I'm thinking using this tablet to output to 1280 x 800 projector. I currently have MK802 android on stick, and it outputs 1280 x 720 via HDMI, which renders everything stretched. What is HDMI AR of this unit?

I don't honestly know the answer to your question. I can tell you that with a very high-def copy of, "Despicable Me:, the video completely fills the screen of my 42" Vizio and is very crisp. Maybe just a little bit more saturated than on the tablet screen, but way more than unacceptable quality.

My projector auto adjusts so I haven't captured the resolution numbers, but the Sero output is gorgeous on my Acer without stretching.

I love those sticks and I would think that between the output settings on your stick and the controls on your projector, you could avoid the stretching.
