The expiration date listed on the packageis intended for the unopened product. Once a cup of yogurt is opened and partially used, it needs to be consumed within 2 to 3 days after opening to avoid the risk of becoming spoiled, even if it has been handled very carefully. Also, consuming the yogurt within a short period of time after opening will also ensure that the product remains fresh and retains its quality of taste and texture.

It is perfectly normal. It is the whey rising/settling out. Either stir it back in or pour it off like I do...it'll make it thicker. If you take regular yogurt and strain the whey from it you end up with "Greek" yogurt.

Question

Where does the milk from Great Value NF Greek yogurt come from?

The label merely says it is distributed in Bentonville, Arkansas. I want know specifically from where the milk originates, and if it has added hormones or if it has other otherwise unacceptable additives. Thank you

(It tastes absolutely delicious, and seems to be the best tasting nf Gk yogurt I've had!)

Since the supplier for the milk is three steps removed from the dairy farmer, there is no accurate way of determining whether or not rBST was used on the farms that supplied the milk.

This product contains live and active cultures Streptococcus Thermophilus, Lactobacillus Bulgaricus and Lactobacillus Acidophilus. The exact number is not available. Since we are in the process of testing and retesting the products for the LAC seal requirements, we have elected to remove the seal from our Great Value products until testing is complete.

Question

If this yogurt contains live and active cultures, why doesn't it have the LAC seal?

I am wondering why this yogurt doesn't have the LAC (Live and Active Cultures) seal? A very important difference among yogurts is whether they contain live and active cultures. Although all yogurts initially contain live and active cultures, some are heated after they are made, thereby destroying the cultures. Also, some yogurts are initially formulated with a low level of cultures. Consumers can be certain they are getting yogurt with significant levels of live and active cultures by looking for the National Yogurt Association (NYA) Live & Active Cultures Yogurt seal on the package.
