No! All these model were made like that on purpose, to prevent accidental door close by the kids. Since most time, kids are left alone on this toy.

It doesn't meet up with the body of the car if that's what you mean. It fits more like a "GATE". There is a gap all the way around the door. I THINK its mostly for the sound effect.

I think that is a safety feature. My Grandson toppled sideways and the door gently opened to let him out. Since it is so low to the floor it is safe . The door is suppose to be opened by little hands that need to fit in the gap without pinching their fingers . Also keeps child from crawling over the side to escape if needed. This is just my opinion. Hope this helps.
Ours closes all the way. I would take yours back and exchange it.
Mine and a friend of mine doesn't either. I think it's made that way so they won't smash fingers and such.
i think you did, our closes fine
If it closed it would be able to pinch fingers. There is a gap to prevent this.
On the one I bought the door pulls all the way in towards the driver. However there is a small gap between the edge of the door and the back part of the car. By the edge I mean the part that the actual door latch would be on a real car.
I think it is made that way so baby does not smash his fingers
Mine does the same thing... its always open just 1/2 an inch.
