answer 3
Simple answer: This is an LED TV.

This is a very common question because manufactures don't explain it very well. Here's my explanation if you interested:

All "LED TV's" have LCD screens with LED backlighting. On older "LCD TV's" they used florescent lights to provide backlighting, which made the TV's thicker, uneven light distribution and didn't last as long.

LED TV's use LED lights as backlighting, which use less power, last 100s of times longer, and have perfect light distribution.

Many people believe that "LED TV's" don't have backlighting and there is no LCD screen, but that's not the case. Only "OLED" TV's generate their image without backlighting or LCD screen... but OLED TV's are THOUSANDS of dollars... you'd know if you were buying one.

LED TV's are LCD. The LED's provide backlighting to the LCD display. That is why you see reference to LED and LCD in description. Some inexpensive TV models are just LCD with no backlighting.

It is passive. You can get glasses at most retailers, on Amazon, or just go to your local theater to see a 3d film and keep those glasses. Passive glasses are way cheaper than active ones. I got a set of 12, including two childrens, for 20 bucks on amazon!

Yes that's what I use. The real-D ones. If u want the exact glasses all passive 3D tvs are polorized either vertical, horizontal, or circular either clockwise or counter clockwise! This TV is circular! Idk what way or if horizontal or vertical will work, they prob will but I haven't tryed any of those. I use the one pair that came with it and my movie theater ones and just so you know all movie theater real-D are circular polorized so it's a.... Like a glove! Fit!!

I just got this TV. It shows either HSBS (side-by-side) or HOU (over-under), and works with a computer (using a 3d video player -- I use Bino on Linux), a Playstation (games play great and auto-detect the TV), and probably other common 3d capable machines too.

This is a passive TV, meaning that cheap theater glasses (RealD, etc) work well with it. (I have several pairs of these myself.) No glasses come with the set, but these type of glasses are cheap.

I'd get the warranty if I were you -- I did. $50 for 4 years is worth it, as this is an unknown brand and doesn't really have a presence online. Otherwise, wonderful display, and easy to use 3d!

I was wondering if the 3D glasses came with the unit. I think any passive 3D glasses will work with these TVs, even the ones you get at the movie theater. Most 3D TVs usually come with at least 2 pairs of glasses. I usually keep my glasses I get at the movie theater just in case

While the TV has simulated 3D that allows you watch anything in 3D regardless of source (on air TV, gaming console, DVD player, etc, wearing the glasses of course), to watch a 3D Blu-ray you need a 3D Blu-ray player.

So to answer you question more directly, NO you do not need a 3D Blu-ray to watch simulated 3D or to watch 3D streaming movies (such as from Netflix using a PS3), however you do need one to watch true 3D Blu-ray discs (which, BTW, the PS3 does too).

answer 5
They probably have to be that high if they're an ACTIVE 3D setup, since each frame goes to each eye every other frame, and anything under that speed would be noticeable.

However, this is a PASSIVE 3D TV, meaning that each eye's signal has been polarized and are displayed simultaneously, and has no need for the back and forth flickering effect associated with active 3D.

answer 6
No, 3D tvs do not need to be 120hz in order to display 3D. This is a misconception caused by the fact that the early 3D HDTVs were all used the active shutter glasses system to produce the 3D effect. Those work by alternating between displaying the left and right eye images. The left eye gets 60 fields and then the right gets 60 while the glasses take turns blocking out each eye at the same rate. Together this system runs at 120hz.

This TV is a passive 3D tv. It does not use this kind of active shutter system. 60hz is perfectly fine for this kind of system. In fact, it looks fantastic!

As a matter of fact I still prefer 60hz as pretty much all content is shot at 24 or 30 frames per second. A tv that is refreshing at more than 30hz is simply displaying those frames multiple times over. 120hz and higher tvs are simply adding in lots of duplicate frames. The effect looks rather weird to me.

Yes the stand swivels some. You have to hold it firm to swivel, it's not loose. It turns just enough to angle to each couch in the room. It does not swivel enough to reach the plugs area which is on the rear left side (when facing the tv). Most tvs I've had, have the plugs area on the right or rear right side when facing the tv.

Yes, this tv has 2d to 3d conversion that works with the HDMI inputs only as far as I can tell. As for the quality of the conversion, I haven't used it too much yet as my new Sony BDP-S5100 bluray player has really good conversion built in for movies. I'll compare the conversions when I get back home from vacation and write up a quick review of it.

Can I play PS3 and Xbox 360 games in 3D with this Cielo tv?

Hi. I'm really interested in this tv. I'm a gamer though, and own both a PS3 and a Xbox 360. Does anyone know if I set either console to this television, will I be able to play the games in 3D? Also, can I watch Netflix, Hulu, etc, from my console in 3D on this tv? Thanks! :)

It depends on the game and device. I have a 360 and was able to play Gears 3 in 3D because it has the 3D built into the game. As far as Netflix and stuff, it depends on if it offers 3D movies. I know Netflix just rolled it out and PS3 was apart of the initial rollout.

Yes. the 2D to 3D conversion feature works great with either system. i played a bunch of games on my xbox 360 in 3D such as Halo, Gears of war and Borderlands. now remember that it wont make the game jump out at you like youd think 3D would but it makes it have more depth and shows great detail. as long as the system is connected to the TV through an HDMI cable.
