No headlight. I never thought a headlight was of any use anyway. If you don't see dust, does that mean you will not go over that piece of the floor ? doesn't make any sense to me.

Yes. Mine came with three (3)) - a 4" X 2" brush, a 9" flattish head with very low and soft bristles, and a 15" crevice tool. There is also a mounting bracket for hanging the unit when stored.

I got mine in the Walmart store, but since both are blue, same price & item #...

It came with the following:

* The motor head (Weighs 3.3 lbs on my scale)

* A 30" detachable tube to extend the reach of the various attachments. (Attachments can all be used with just the motor head, or with the 30" extension tube).

* A 10.5" wide x 2.5" tall, powered beater bar head (for carpeting & floors).

* Dust brush, about 4" wide, with soft-ish bristles, for dusting furniture. (May be a bit stiff for Video screens, so be aware.)

* Pet hair brush, which is about 6" wide, with a strip of that 1-way "lint brush" fabric on each side.

* Crevice tool. About a foot long, with the narrow, angled slot on the end - like all crevice tools.

Weight is about 8.6 lbs with the beater bar, 30" tube, and motor housing + cord, assembled.

Stored dimensions for Vac & beater bar head on the floor: Roughly 3' tall, 10.5" wide, and probably about 10-11" deep - with motor mounted to the extension tube, not wall mounted.

It comes with the main attachment that has the rotating brush, the main extender piece and 3 other small attachments. A brush attachment, a pointed attachment for corners, and a curtain or pillow brush that I think has lint collectors on them.

The power cord stores on the power sweeper pole. The cord is really long so you have to bend down or pick up the pole to wind the cord around the two hooks on the pole. I always like the automatic power cord retraction system found on Electrolux tank vacs, but those vacs were really big and heavy. I still have two of them and hate to give them up.

there are 2 hooks that the cord winds on. It runs the length of the wand

answer 4
There are 2 brackets on the side of the 30" extension tube, and you wrap the cord around that, 5 times, then it has a clip on the plug to keep it there.

The top bracket will rotate down, for quick release of the cord.

When you turn on the motorized head it seems self propelled. You can also use the motorized head without the motor turned on (like for bare floors). Swivels quite nicely, too.

The power sweeper pulls forward due to the rotating brush. I found it very easy to move in both directions. The sweeper also swivels left and right with very little effort.

Yes, just be careful to put the collection chamber door squarely over the garbage can or you will have to re-vacuum the floor. I missed the first time and I spilled some ugly debris on floor, disgusting. That is why I really wish they made the collection chamber removable like Dyson did.

I absolutely love this for the dog hair. I have one dog that sheds, sheds, sheds. The other not so much. But, this is so easy to use and to just grab. It's not the dragging out the big monster and hauling it back to storage when done. This is a mighty powerful vac and will pick up an area rug...so be careful. It is fast too. This thing flies and I can be done in half the time. I also can store it right in a closet and it doesn't take up much room. So, I do it more often and therefore there is less dog hair. I had vacuumed with my monster and the house looked clean. But this arrived and I wanted to try it out. I did so and you would not believe the hair and dust that was in the tank. It was awesome. I can't believe the monster was leaving so much behind. If this broke today, I'd be ordering another one tonight!!

Not very well. I have two dogs with short hair and it doesn't do a very good job of removing the hair on the rug without getting down on your hands and knees and using the small rotating attachment.

Question

Does this work well on oriental rugs. I am concerned there is no pile adjustment and don't want to suck up my rugs. Can the brushes mar wood floors?

I have used the power sweeper on hard wood floors. I haven't seen any scratches.
I have also used the power sweeper on our area carpet that looks like a oriental carpet pile with no problem. However as with all vac power sweepers you have to be careful not to get the rotating brush tangled up with a fringe at the carpet ends. The Sharp power sweeper brush can be turned off if required also.

answer 2
The vacuum has 2 speeds. I use the lesser speed for area rugs and my hardwood floors and ceramic tile. The brush roller does not turn off. It hasn't scratched my floors. I can vacuum most area rugs but not something flimsy like say the bath mat, flimsy rugs and fringe would get sucked in.

answer 3
I have lots of area rugs and this vacuum does a great job without sucking them off the floor. I had that problem with both of my other vacuums, the Halo and the Sears canister. I have rugs that were damaged because of it and vacuum belts that broke. I am not having that issue with this vacuum. I think you will be pleasantly surprised and pleased with the results.

Um, I just got mine in the store, and it has several tools with it. Crevice tool, pet hair tool, and a dust brush, too.

I've found most vacs take the same size hose attachments, in general, so I'm sure Shark made them interchangeable. I'm pretty sure they suggested I get some floor attachments from another Shark product, in the paperwork.
