I don't know the exact weight however, it is light enough to sit on a small, wired display shelf. Plus, I can pick the thing up with one hand. The stand is a non-issue, weight wise.

I wanted to clarify my earlier answer. The TV doesn't need a converter box but keep it for your VCR. With the converter box, you will also be able to tape a different channel while watching another on the TV.
Get a splitter for your coax antenna wire (they are cheap)and
hook to the splitters input. Run 2 coax antenna wires from the output of the splitter.
Connect 1 directly to the coax input on the TV.
Next take the other coax wire and hook to your old converter box input
Use the red/white/yellow RCA outputs from the converter box and attach to the TV's matching red/white/yellow inputs.
Use the TV's component settings to watch the tape. The new VCR's that don't need a converter box are very expensive so I am not upgrading till the prices come down on the VCR/DVD recorders. VCR is still the best quality to tape and tapes can be reused many many times while DVD recording is great directly from a VHS tape, but the quality of recording directly from the TV is not so good and even though the DVD recorders say you can reuse 1000 times, my experience with 3 different brands is that 8 times is the maximum and the quality goes down each time.

Yes it will and the picture is very clear. Have Dish, and when it is out can use the antenna. Great option

It should not require the box, the TV has the HD built in but your antenna might have to be HD.

answer 4
I don't know what you mean by digital box connection, but this tv does have it's own tuner so it can be hooked up to a tv antenna via the coax connection (which is in a very awkward location!). After turning it on it runs a scan to find the channels available before you starting watching.

answer 5
Yes it will hook up easily and if you want to be able to tape on your vcr, you will still need your old converter box for that. You would need an antenna splitter that the antenna wire goes input and send 1 antenna wire to the tv and 1 to the vcr. Run the red/white/yellow from the converter box to the vcr inputs. On the vcr output red/white/yellow run those cords to the matching inputs on the tv. It also has the red/white output to go to stereo or surround sound. I am on antenna also and this is working fine- caution though if some motion blur will be a serious problem for you, you may need to spend some more. The samsung was much better but it is $90 more. I do like the color on this tv better than the samsung.

Question

Tv Stand

There was a question asked about the TV stand coming in the package and it was answered as "Yes", however, I want to be sure since I don't have much time before Christmas. The specs say:

TV stand sold separately. See all TV stands.

TV mount sold separately. See all TV mounts.

Are you sure it does?

There is a base that the TV sets upon. Suitable for placement on a table...NOT on the floor. Stands that would be considered furniture are sold as a separate product. It can be wall mounted as well, but the mount is sold separately.

I entered Quasar into Panasonic support website and nothing came up. NO MENTION of Quasar on the Panasonic website. I would have to see what is on or in the box before I'd feel comfortable with the warranty. I'd also buy an extended warranty since I could not find anything on the internet about who to contact for service. I am not advocating Walmart's warranty. There are other companies that sell them also, so shop around.

From Wikipedia: As of 2005, the Quasar name had limited use in North America, either being affixed to discontinued products from the Panasonic line or more value-oriented products than Matsushita's Panasonic brand, being sold in such places such as drug stores and supermarkets.[citation needed] Quasar Company ceased to exist in 2004. In 2013 Panasonic applied for a new Quasar trademark for various categories of electronics.[4]
