I only know that the optimus has been nothing but trouble. I cannot make outgoing phone calls most of the time. It takes 5 minutes or so for the call to be placed. I get 5-7 notifications of every text I get. Apps constantly crash. I would never recommend this phone to anyone.

Well, if you mean by "better" having better specifications, then the ZTE Majesty will generally have better specs.
The Majesty has an upgraded OS, Android 4.1 JellyBean compared with the Ultimate's 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Majesty has a faster processor, a dual-core 1.2 GHz compared with the Ultimate's 1.0 GHz processor.
The Majesty will have a larger screen/display, a 4.5" compared with the Ultimate's 4.35" (just that little bit of difference makes a significant improvement).
The Majesty will have a slightly larger internal memory, 4 GB compared with the Ultimate's 2.53 GB.
The Majesty will have very slightly better battery specs, 7.8 hours talk with 15 day of standby compared with the Ultimate's 7.0 hours of talk and 13 days of standby.
The Majesty will use the Verizon network (native, no roaming) where the Ultimate will use AT&T. Most believe Verizon has a slightly better coverage footprint. This will depend on where you plan to use the phone, however, as to which network is "better."
Some believe that LG is a more reliable and better known product than ZTE but let's face it, even though ZTE is a Chinese-based company and LG being a better known South Korean manufacturer, both phones are probably made in China from Chinese parts.
