entirely dependent on the HDTV capability.

This depends largely on the model of HDTV you have, and if it supports this. Some HDTV's allow streaming through network devices, but you will want to check the manual/specs to see if it is supported.

According to the Time Warner Subscriber "Compatible equipment" recommendations pages Netgear N450 Model CG3000Dv2, Model C3000-100NAS, and Model C3700-100NAS are "MODEM & Wifi routers". Check your Internet Service Provider, (if different from Time Warner) to see if they have a similar list. Time warner Charges and equipment fee for the Modems they provide - but also post this compatible "bring your own equipment" option.

I do not work for Time Warner, but I had just seen their offerings linked to a recent $14.99/mo budget promotion 3/3/1014

answer 2
If you have Internet in the home, you should be able to use this router to provide wireless coverage to tablets and other devices. Without an existing Internet connection, this router can still function to allow devices connect to your local network wirelessly, but it does not provide a connection to the Internet in and of itself.

A modem is separate. Your ISP usually either provides or makes a recommendation as far as a modem goes. A router simply allows use of more than one PC and/or going wireless.

No, this router does not have a built in modem. You could use it in conjunction with one of our cable modems, or a cable modem from your provider.

answer 2
Yes, this router will work with Windows XP. As for coverage, we'd need to know a bit more information, namely how far the router will be away from the far end of your home. Many factors can affect the range and signal strength you will get. You can email us at netgearteam@netgear.com if you have further questions, and thank you for considering NETGEAR!
