Questions & Answers for Generic 6' Airblown Thanksgiving Inflatable Turkey with Pilgrim Hat

Question

Does this light up when plugged in?

This item seems to be more expensive at other stores but I cannot tell if they are the same item. One states lighted when plugged in and the other doesn't say it at all? Is this less expensive because it doesn't light up?

Sure! Just go to the Walmart site where you ordered and specify the store you want the item to go to. If another person is going to pick the item up you must identify them so they can pick it up. It's really easy and for me the entire process worke perfectly.

Yes I have done with other inflatables. Make sure your extension chord is rated for such. I would unplug if possible though. Also keep on higher ground.

I have several inflatables and they are water resistant. I wouldn't want to constantly subject them to rain but a few storms won't hurt them, just don't put them away wet or they will mildew.

I, too, live in Washington State and the rain does not bother it. Just make sure that your support cords are secure in the ground because if it is windy, it can be blown over.

You really aren't supposed to ...
However we HAD a blow up Halloween Pumpkin device that we left outside all the time during the Halloween season. (for us that was the entire month of October). It got rained on a bunch and was fine ...

For this turkey,... we'll I plan on leaving it outside and I'll just deflate it during rain. The key however is to ensure when it deflates the fabric covers the motor assembly to keep rain out. Naturally you don't want the plug to be sitting in water where it connect to your extension cord. I'll plug into my outdoors GFCI protected outlets and won't worry about it otherwise.

answer 11
I have used these inflatables for over a decade and I leave mine out in the rain and/or snow. Just be careful that the plug is not actually setting in water. Wind is a big enemy of inflatables and they should be deflated during strong winds.

check the seams to see if the stitching or rather the holes made in the material along the stitching have not gotten any larger than when it was new. you may need to get some tent seam sealer or some other product to seal the small holes along many of the seams to keep to much air from escaping/ leaking out.

I don't believe pressure is the problem. Because they're made of plastic, it's easy to develop tiny holes. Because you can't immerse them in a tub of water to see if there are bubbles, plug it in and move your hands over it to see if you can feel air escaping. If you can find tiny holes, you can buy plastic pool patches to cover them.

First thing to check is make sure all zippers are fully closed. It is easy to miss some of the smaller ones next to the fans.

After a few years some of the seams can also start leaking. Check to see if there are any slits or open seems. You can sew them up or use clear packing tape on small openings.

In times the fabric can become thin. Some people use a light coating of spray on tent sealant to help that problem.

Check to make sure the fans are clean and running at full speed. Dirty fans slow down and will not inflate properly.

We leave ours up 24/7 during the holiday seasons and have not had any real problems.
