Not mesh all around. What you see in the picture as a beige color - that's a very heavy duck fabric. Extremely sturdy. Around the bottom, the black you see is reinforced further. There is mesh on at least 3 sides. In the picture, the bone-shaped "window" is actually mesh, and the opening where you see the dog laying - that's also mesh when the end is zipped closed. I believe the opposite end also is mesh but I'm going on memory and not 100% sure.

I don't think so, i would go up a size , i have the E 20 and my 5 lb poodle fits comfortably in it. I cannot imagine a dog or cat over 8 lbs being comfortable in this.

I think it's 20 x 13 x 13. My cat is 13 lbs and fits fine though I also have the larger E24 opened all the time in my car. I use the E20 to carry it in and out of hotels.

According to the measurements provided on the website for the E-20:

•Model E-20 is for pets up to 15 lbs and measures 20"L x 13"W x 13"H

It will accomodate an 11 lb (give or take a few lbs. ???) dog but if you are going to use this crate as your pet's bed, It is not big enough. Your pet needs room to stretch out and be comfortable sleeping. If you are going to use it strictly as a carrier when traveling, then I would guess it would be ok.

There is an E-24 that sounds like it would better fit your dog.

It measures 20"L x 13"W x 13"H. I have 15lb dachshunds & they fit in the e-20 just fine for car traveling & short-term crating at home.

If you are planning to crate your min-pin for longer periods (while at work, etc) I would go up a size to something like an 18x24" wire crate. It will give her more room to move around & stretch her legs during the longer stay in the crate.

I would go the next size up. This carrier is great for smaller animals. She will probably gain weight in the future and this might work, but she would have more moveable room in the next level.

answer 1
It's absolutely sturdy enough to stack. Although I would recommend to limit the stacking to 2, three might be too tall and can topple over. For a 12/15 lb dog I'd recommend the next size up...just for extra stretching space. The 20 is perfect for up to a 8 lb dog...

I would say not to stack them. but Yes it would hold a 12-15 lb silky terrier. My full size shih-tzu fits very comfortably in it.

I personally don't think they are stable for stacking as they are made of canvas, however, a silky terrier would fit in the small or medium for more space.

No, this carrier is soft between the bars that hold it open. If you need a handle get the E20, if not get the E24.

answer 5
Not sure the E-20 is the right size for your 12-15 lb dog. You might want to look into the E-24 which would be a little larger. Your dog needs ample room to stretch out and be comfortable and a dog of that size would be quite cramped.

As for stacking crates on top of each other (2 or 3) the weight of two or three dogs on top of each other seems a bit much. These crates are beautifully engineered and very well made but stacking them does seem over the top. I personally wouldn't do it.

The crates should not be stacked as the tops are soft nylon. It might be a bit snug for a 15 lb dog but my 11 pound Bichon is quite comfortable in it.

I suggest that you use a "hard carrier" for travel. It is made to be collapsable and has two bars on the side that are assembled for use. The bottom is not solid so a stranger might not be as careful while carrying your pet. If you use it to transport in and out of hotels it's great, but I wouldn't suggest using it on a plane.

Question

I have a 15 lb. cat and am wondering which size crate to get, the E-20 or the E-24?

I like the size of the E-20 better, plus it has carrying handles, which the E-24 does not. I'm thinking the E-24 would give my cat more stretching room on longer excursions, such as when we drive across country in June. Or maybe the E-20 would be just fine. I wish I could ask the cat?

Mine works great for my 21in long, 10lbs dog. I would imagine this one would be ok, I almost think the E-24 might be to big. But one good thing is that if you find that the E-20 is to small then Walmart will let you return it. Good luck

I think e-20 is fine for that size cat. I would think they would feel more comfortable and secure in a smaller crate for travel. Most places who sell it would let you open and look at it closer, that would be the thing to do.

If the cat seems comfortable, just keep the one you have. If I were contained, I would want to move around, but cats do like small spaces. Ask the cat! :-)

I have 2 cats, one is 13 lbs and the other 17 lbs. I first purchased the E24 but it was too big and had no handles. I then purchased the E20 and it was fine for one cat. I allow my cats to roam the car so I returned one of each. I traveled with the large one opened in the car and used the smaller one, which has handles, to carry the cats into the hotels.

answer 6
If your cat does indeed weigh 15 lbs, the E-20 would not be big enough. Another reviewer that has a 12 lb dog found this crate too small. I have the E-20 but my dog only weighs 6 lbs and when she stretches out, it is ample room for her but a 15 pounder would make for a cramped space.
Hope this helps in your decision.

i would try going to petnation.com and e-mailing them, to see what they say. they may be able to just mail you the entire metal piece again. was the splitting due to your animal, or was it just normal wear and tear? let them know if it was a definate product malfunction, i know you can order extra covors for little expense. if you cant e-mail see if you can get a phone number and call them and see what they reccomend. you dont want to put a pice of plastic your animal could chew inside if you can help it! hope this helps!

For the most part it is water proof. underneath the fabric is a material that is water proof as long as there is no cracks or wholes in it, but the windows are mesh to allow air flow. so it does great in the rain going from point A to B.

answer 3
Depends on the (overweight) weight your dog is. My dog weighs 6 lbs - 4 oz. The crate I have for her is the E-20. For your dog to be comfortable and to be able to stretch out, you would most likely need to have the larger crate. You don't want your dog cramped up in the crate. My guess is that you would probably need the E-24? Jack Russell Terriers are larger than 6 or 7 lb Toy Fox Terriers and if your dog is overweight, the E-20 is way too small for your dog. Hope this helps.

Im not sure where to get them from but my sister has the same crate we both bought and her dog scratched holes in it as well. My sister found a replacement piece but said it was just as much as buying a new one. So you might just want to buy a new one. Maybe a plastic one. something the dog cant make wholes in. Thats what i'm doing this next time. Good luck.
