We only use it for cleaning carpet. It doesn't seem to pick up particles/objects as well as a regular vacuum but does a great job on liquids.

I have used it from time to time on our furniture that some is microfiber. Just need to watch the amount of solution used so that the piece doesn't get too wet.

Because the suction head is small it can suck the dirt out of areas a bigger
carpet cleaner can not reach or fit into.
We took the seats out of our Caravan
and used a regular house carpet cleaner on the Caravans flat floors behind the front seats .
But around the front seats we did not remove we used the spot bot in the manual mode .

We also used a simple scriub brush where the spot bot did not fit .
Amtrak used a high pressure washer to clean the carpets of ther ACELA trainsets . But many carpets fell apart under the high pressure soapy water .
Floor heating electrical systems had to be replaced on many cars .
High pressure water splashed every where and goes places not desired for it to travel.
