If I purchase a 3-year warranty for an auto electronic item up to $299, how does anyone know that it's a warranty for a GPS <$299?
I'm looking at the 36 year warranty in the $147 - $299 price range for a Garmin Nuvi 205W GPS priced at $174 (list $249). Is this the correct warranty to select? How is it related to the GPS that I've ordered at the same time?

yes that is the right warranty. It is based on the purchase price. You can register your purchase now or later. My Magellan GPS died on me 1 yr & 1 month after purchase. I registered, reported the issue, they sent me a prepaid label to ship it to them. When they could not repair, I got a check for the full purchase price + tax. Now ordering a new GPS & new warranty. Totally worth the price or I would have been out 147+tax one month after the manufacturers 1 yr warranty ended.

Just print out the warranty info when purchased & keep it with your original purchase papers from the GPS system you purchased. This is what I've done when I purchased the warranty. Walmart.com may be able to explain better than I can. Hope this helps.
