Speedwork and tempo runs are the times that I use the GPS the most. It is very accurate and by using the lap button, you can automatically reset paces and times so you can be right on the money every time.
I use gym equipment and use exercise DVDs mostly. Would this equipment be accurate for this usage? Also, does it tell you how many calories you've consumed, as well as how many you've burned?

You would need to buy a foot pod accessory for it. If all you do is indoor then this is not the device for you. Garmin sells other products (Garmin 50) that utilizes a foot pod and a watch to measure distance. It will tell you heart rate and calories burned. If you mix the outdoors with the gym then you may consider this.
Neither. The 205 is worn on the wrist like a wrist watch. It is not a sport watch. Compare the forerunner 205/305/405 at the Garmin website. (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare.docID=142&compareProduct=11039&compareProduct=349&compareProduct=348)
