I had this same problem. When its empty, start to fill it and hold the pump so its hole is facing up. Drop a few (5-10) drops of 3-in-1 oil into it while it runs. I also shot in a little compressed air to make the oil droplets spread out more evenly. You might spray some sort of 3-in-1 oil instead (not WD-40 or penetrating oil though). This solved my slow in-pump leak.

Question

I don't know why the other person said it uses a plug. The "4D" pump is a "4 D-cell" pump. So yes, it uses 4 D-cell batteries. It has no provision for taking power from anything but the batteries, though it has a spare hole in the side in case you need to use a foot pump.

No it does not. That is the great thing about it. It has a wall plug that has a compartment in the mattress. You will love the easy and convinence of having this product. I know I have. That is why I am trying to order another one now.

Question
Does it require a pump to blow it up manually?
I ready in the description, that if the power were to go out, you could blow it up manually. Do they mean with a sold serperaly pump, or by blowing it up with air from your lungs?

This is a battery operated unit, it takes 4 D cells. I don't know why the description talks about the "electricity going out". If the batteries die, though, then yes you can use a sold-separately pump to fill it through a hole in the side.

I know you read the instruction manual!

Slide out the batterie box, it just slides out.
Push the white button on the front of the Batterie box . Lift the cover up and remove batteries.
If they are stuck at this point then you'll have to get something to dislodge them gentely from the batterie case.
When you get them out clean the box. let it dry before adding new batteries
