Question
Can this antenna be hooked up to multiple tvs?

Yes, but your signal level will drop in half when you do so. Make sure you do what you can to maximize the signal before you split.

The best thing you can do is replace the supplied 20' of RG59 coax with whatever length you need of RG6. This will lower losses significantly.

Once out of the splitter, you can watch any channel on any tv (and they most certainly can be different) that you have split to, and that the antenna will provide enough signal for.

Yes. You would need to buy a $10 Coax Splitter and run another Coaxial line to the second TV(you would probably need a signal amplifier also), but you could only watch the same thing on both TV's - so you might want to just get another Antenna.

Question
installing antenna in place of cable (splitting)
Is it possible to place this product where the cable company's cable comes into the house and split off a single feed? I have one entry point and then 4 separate cables come from the outside cable box via splitters. In other words, can i place the antenna outside using the existing cable wires and then have each tv work that way? I have 4 TVs...1 HDTV and 3 CRT tvs with digital converter boxes.

You can, but you might find you need to add a signal amplifier. If one can't be found at your local Wal-Mart store, your local Radio Shack should carry it.

A friend of mine said it would work that way. I don't have the converter box yet for one of my TVs so I just hooked it up to the hdtv and it worked great inside and out side.

If your TV does not have a Digital tuner, you will need a converter box. This antenna does not convert HD signals, it only allows them to be received better.

Of course, if you already have cable then you don't need a digital tuner or a new antenna.

Yes you still will need the converter box. Go to this link for reviews of the various conveter boxes. http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-tv-converter/ Your old analog tv cannot convert the digital signal without the box. The government was giving out free $40 coupons towards your purchase of the converter. Good luck.. after the transition you will have a much better picture!

Question
Can I use this where I had a satelite dish, hook it to the same cable and bring it into the house through the cables to hook to two differeent TVs?
I am sure I will need a converter box with at least one of the TVs, but I assume they will both need antennas. Will this do it?

Buy the antenna and use your existing cable from the old satellite dish to your house. Hook your new converter to the existing in house connection. On tho "OUT to TV" side of the converter install a good quality splitter...not a cheap one. Then you can run the cable to both sets using the same converter box. Good Luck.

I used to have cable so I plan on hooking this to our cable line in the attic and then hooking the antenna jack (coax) of our converter box to the wall cable coax connector which will at the point be connected to the antenna. Hopefully it will work.

The antenna only comes with a 20' cable, so you would either have to come down the exterior of your home or drill holes to make the passage down to your 1st floor with some additional cable. Any antenna would have the same limitations.

Question
How do I find out close i am to the nearest tower?
I have a regular analog TV and have never been able to get anything other than static at my house. I got the converter box yesterday and I guess I need an antenna now (threw it out a year ago, got no signal anyway). I know people 3 miles from my house get basic channels (thats all I'm looking for). Any advice would be great!

To my surprise it does pick up both VHF and UHF.

I am now picking up channels 3, 5 & 8(Cleveland area), on the analog and channel 5 on the digital . . . at about 45-50 miles distance.

AND I have my antenna about 5-1/2 off the ground under a partially enclosed aluminum awning(completely blocked toward Cleveland and on the "back" of the antenna at that.(the pointy edge is the leading edge).

It says that it is directional, but I live close to the broadcast antennas, so it doesn't make a big difference. But again, it is directional.

I believe it's Medium Directional Antenna w/pre amp...box has Navy Blue color codeing. Website says I need red but this one works perfectly, I didn't know about the color codeing until after I put it up but works perfectly. You can check what you need on the antenna site link

There is an 18db receiver amplifier inside the antenna enabling you to pick up stations MUCH furher away than with a plain antenna. That's what yer payin' fer!!!!

answer 2
The ac adapter supplies low voltage dc to the amplifier that is built into the antenna. This voltage travels on the same coax that sends the signal from the antenna to your tv. You will no doubt get the best results if you are able to install the antenna outside where you are able to rotate for best signal and then tighten in place.

I am 19 miles from my local signal(check at www.antennaweb.org) and couldnt get a signal anywhere outside or inside of my two story house. i am in a large city but it still didnt work. the RCA ANT751 works great for me. it also doesnt convert signals for older tvs.
