yes, we have been using ours for a month now and I have only had to dust my black electronics once, and that is with a wood burning stove burning every night. and we have several animals in the house. Work great!!

Yes it does. it doesn't dust your furniture, but it does scrub the air. I had to clean the filter after the first 3 days of use

have you made sure the filter is poped in tight? and have you tried to plug it in different plug-ins in your house. make sure you don't plug it in on the same line with other big electronics. just a thought. And when you say it keeps turning off, are the lights on? I just say that because mine makes absolutely no sound, I had to get right down to it to feel the air moving to know it was working.

Try cleaning the wire and collector plates. If this doesn't work, it is defective and you should exchange it.

Make sure the blades are clean and dry. Also make sure there is not a direct fan blowing air on it. I noticed in the past when I would run a fan close it, the Pro would shut off - I think the force of the fan maybe overwhelming it. Hope this helps!

It does not cool the air. It is not like other purifiers. You cannot feel a breeze at all and it is COMPLETELY silent except when it needs cleaning. You will hear a little "static-like" sound.

Yes - if the room is not too large. I have this in my bedroom which is @27 x 20 and when I leave for work in the morning I close my door. When I come back home the air does not even have a "hint" of the smell of cigarettes. You will also notice when cleaning the blades there is a lot of "black stuff" on the blades that look really nasty - I am sure from the smoke.

yes i have. i have been using the ionics for over 8 years. i have a sun conure and a cockatoo and itworks great around them. if feathers get on the grid it lets you know to clean. i do NOT agree at all with the other comments. you will be amazed how well the ionics work. hope this helps you...

I would not recommend trying to trap anything larger than typical dust particles. The unit is not designed to capture anything larger. For feathers you would need something that really pulls a lot of air in; this unit does not pull much air in, but it does clean the air gradually.
