Question

What is the required bar length for this gym?

Bought this gym and separate weights and bar, and the bar which is 5' is too short for this gym. Anyone have any suggestions?

You can use a 7' bar. The system works with both Standard and Olympic sets. The distance between the uprights is 48 inches the distance between the collars on the bars should be about 54" apart just to have enough slide room.
Hope this helps

answer 2
You really don't have any options other than to buy a 7' bar. We had purchased a 6' bar and it was too short so we returned that one and bought a 7' one. 7' is great though it takes up a lot more space from side to side.

I've seen a picture of an XRS 20 with a yellow bar in the center of the squat rack, which leads me to believe you can change it out to be either a standard or olympic width bench. However, the model shown here only comes with one center piece that makes the bench olympic size (7 foot bar only).

answer 2
Depends on what you mean by wide. If you're a bodybuilder and want to change hand positions during a bench press, then you may be disappointed. If you are just looking to lift to supplement your regular exercise, this set is perfect. I'm 6' 1/2" with long arms and wide shoulders and can grip a little wider than shoulder width during my bench, but that's all I need since I'm a runner who supplements with weights. Hope this helps...

Question

Welding?

Is it just the bench I got or has other people noticed that the welding on this bench is horrible? The pegs that the safety hooks rest on are only welded on the top and bottom not all the way around. Also the welding is not the best quality.

Welding is poor. Nearly every weld is incomplete. You can see the sputtering in several places as well as varying thicknesses/penetration.

Question

What's the height of the seat? Also, the dimensions of both seat pad and back pad?

I am planning to upgrade my current bench which is just a standard narrow bench, and hoping this bench utilizes a wider seat/back pad, as my current bench is really unstable due to the narrow pads.

See the reviews. This is an excellent bench for beginners, intermediate, and advanced users. It has a 600 pound capacity on the bench and a 300 pound capacity on the rack.

This gym is great ive had it for a year now and the two piece design helps alot to do many exercises. Need to get a olympic size weight set and 7ft bar. easy to put together and built very strong. I use it 2-3 times a week have had no problems. does take some time to adjust bar heights to do squats or inclines but other than that easy to move around.

I'm six feet tall and the uprights on their highest setting are perfect for me for squats. I doubt you can do pullups on them. Just buy a doorway chin bar.

answer 2
I'm a shorter person-5'3". I use it for pullups and chinups. I just bend me knees and pullup or chinup and it works just fine. I don't know the exact height.
