I think it will still be great for your baby. Brooklyn is 10 pounds and still has room to grow. The headrest moves to accomodate baby as they grow and the seat positions are great!
I just had my son on April 26th, 2009, he was 4 months early. My husband and I fell in love with this swing since we first saw it when we found out we were pregnant. I'd love to buy it but do those who own the swing, think my son who will be between 3-4 lbs. when he comes home, be too small and not safely fit in the swing?
As an owner of this swing and a NICU nurse and mom of two wonderful children I think this swing would be a great addition to the family. Just like everything else for your son, he will look so small in it but the addition of perhaps the kiddopatomus head/body support or blanket rolls on either side he should be fine. I am not sure about the speed of the swing due to his low weight so I would probably use the front to back option instead of the side to side as not to rock him to hard but don't forget - he will grow fast, get bigger everyday and probably love the constant light from the stars and the sounds of the music after being used to the NICU environment during his first months of life! Plus, he may be bigger then you think when he comes home! Good Luck.
