Yes setting it up is quick and easy but only if follow the directions carefully. There are three poles for the tent and one to shape out the rain fly. You need only fit the poles together and thread them through the loops and secure them to the pins at the bottom of the tent. Do one pole at a time. One each pole is "arched" you secure it to the tent with the plastic clips on the side, thats how the tent gets formed out. Teh rain fly then goes over the top with the little peak window at the rear. This gets secured with the elastic straps attached to the fly by attaching them to the rings at the tent bottom. It's really pretty easy. The key is do one step at a time and pay attention to the instructions. Once you get it up you'll never have a problem doing it again. To answer your other questions yes it is a sturdy tent and can withstand pretty substantial winds and rain provided you have staked it into the ground properly. This tent, like most tents, can get stuck with anything, it is simply fabric after all. So be careful about putting it near anything that could pierce it. And it's always a good idea to put down a tarp under it first to protect the bottom, although the tent bottom itself is quite rugged. Otherwise that should be as for the tent. You don't really need to purchase anything else for it.

The red poles go through the Red Fabric and the Long black pole goes through the front black fabric. The short black pole is for the covering and inserts straight through the middle over the entrance to the tent. The poles should also have little pins at each of the areas that you will stick through the bottoms of the pole. We put ours up by looking at the picture. Ours did not come with any instructions.

Our initial set up was done indoors. As long as you have the floor space it would make a nice "fort" for the kids. It is perfectly sturdy without staking down but the two side stake loops wouldnt be secured so the tent wouldnt be tight as a drum along the edges. It wouldn't affect the function in any way.

I had no problem packing it up into the bag it came in. Are you travel'g w/a cargo box hitched to your bike or just the bike? The tent bag is about 2ft long & the tent poles prevent any further collapse of the case. I feel it is a great tent for travel'g but depends on bike size & cargo storage on bike. It wont fit in a saddlebag for sure :} !

No, it's red. But if it fades... maybe then!
No polka dots... but the Ozark logo is "pressed" into the fabric and uses the same color as the fabric (red).
