No you dont need 2 people to play this game but there are games that you can play against others if you would like to and the other great feature is that if you have wi-fi connection you can put your scores online.

Yes they can. DS and the like are all the same games its just the game system itself acts different. DS doesnt take pictures like the dsi and such because it is the first ones but DS games play in all the systems.
