On old-standard CRT (tube) televisions, the only way to remove an image was to "burn in" a pure white screen for a period of time, which pretty much washed out whatever was on there to begin with. It wasn't something that was commonly done or recommended; it was better just to avoid that situation. LCD's are better in that respect, they don't burn in much, if at all.

Yes, it does. I have a 32" plasma now and it takes sometimes up to an hour for it to go away but it will. The only thing that I have had trouble with is the "channel emblem" at the bottom right corner of my screen. Maybe it is because I leave my TV on almost all the time, but that you can see. I'm sure it will go away if I turn my tv off and leave it off for a couple of days. However, for something like pausing the screen, that should dissappear with no problem. Hope this helped.

Question

What is the viewing angle on model DP50747?

Our new TV will probably be installed in a fairly large living area. Plasma's usually have good viewing angles (up to 160 degrees side-to-side), didn't notice it being noted anywhere... Can someone help??? (Sanyo 50" Class Plasma HDTV with Digital Tuner Model #DP50747)

The viewing angle on this particular is very modest at 170 degrees, which is about as good as you can get. I don't see why you would want to watch it from 180 degress...you couldn't see anything but the side anyway :P

Question

Is there any special instructions for moving this item?

I was told this set could not be laid down flat, did this mean while being played (why would you?) or does include taking it home from store? I live about 3 miles to nearest store.

We brought this home on a small trailer lying down- about 7 miles.

I read that in the book after it was setup and turned on. Been watching it for about a year now. Looks real good.

But it may be more likey to hurt it lying flat and jarring or bumping it.

There is no liquid or gas that has to be replaced in a Plasma (or LCD) TV, that is just an "urban legend", with no basis in fact.

answer 2
that is true in part yes frankly they just dont make things like they used to the image processor, color processor, motherboard , and the plasma may need parts or repairs within 5yrs but by that time a tv may be more worth while. color and image usually last about 5yrs the plasma 4-7yrs tv in general about 8-12 depending on use
