hinges are on the outside but have a type of tubular casing concealing the actual hinge. It does not take away from the look of the safe; I still love the safe and do recommend it to friends.

This safe only comes with one shelf and it is removable as well as adjustable. There are 4 or 5 locations you can place the shelf. Support clips (4) are included.

noname888
answer 2
Yes. The top one slides in an already fixed shelving area, but it is removable.

The other one is placed by using 4 little metal shelf holders that can easily be removed. The shelf is laid on top of those.

The holders allow the height of the shelf to be adjusted within the safe.

Don't see how it could possibly be waterproof. There are no seals on the door.

 - Moore, OK
answer 3
NO, it is not a waterproof safe, despite the description on Walmart's site and the commenter above. I own this safe, and I can tell you first-hand that there is no rubber or foam seal around the door - it's just metal against metal, which is not waterproof. Nowhere on the packaging itself or in the manual does it say it's waterproof. Moreover, if you look at the last page of the manual that describes the safe's limitations, it specifically says that, to keep your belongings safe from water, you need to put them in a watertight bag or container before putting them in the safe!

Yes it IS water-proof. Water Tight and Water Proof pretty much mean the same thing.
