I got one for my daughter last year and it works well, sounds good. Yes you can download music from your computer.
The computer recognizes that you have hardware, and you actually download from the music player in your computer, I have music match juke box and real player~ You get the option from both to load the music on the Barbie girl. The software with the barbie girl is to charge it, and to open up the Barbie world.
